Samsung Galaxy S6 edge survives over 20 minutes under water

Samsung didn’t waterproof the new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge like it did with their predecessor. So, what happens if you drop your Galaxy S6 edge in water? TechSmartt decided to find out and dunked the an S6 edge into a bowl of water with the stopwatch running.

The phone lasted over 20 minutes before powering off. That's a lot more than can be expected from a phone with no official water resistance rating, but it was not without taking some damage.

After some drying and charging the Galaxy S6 edge came back to life, though there was still water in the device (visible in the front-facing camera. The phone also tended to reboot or even not boot at all after the experiment.

So, definitely don’t go put your Galaxy S6/S6 edge in water on purpose, though it looks like it has a good chance of surviving an accidental drop if you pull it out quickly and dry it properly. Note that depths plays a part, an IPX7 rating for example specifies up to 1m of water.

Plague Inc: Evolved, un videojuego sobre virus

Plague Inc: Evolved es un videojuego que mezcla estrategia con simulación realísta. Su terrorífico tema principal trata de un virus mortal que asola la tierra y la infecicón por el patógeno ha infectado solo al paciente cero. A partir de ahí, tendrás que provocar el fin de la raza humana evolucionando la plaga a nivel global mientras los investigadores hacen todo lo posible para la adaptación y combatir este virus para defenderse.

El videojuego se une a los tantos ya existentes para Linux que serán lanzados en Steam. Y aunque actualmente está disponible para algunas plataformas en las que puedes probarlo y aun tiene errores y problemas que impiden su correcto funcionamiento, algo normal por otra parte por el estado de su desarrollo, posiblemente en un mes esté para Linux.

Sin duda se sale de la norma de la mayoría de videojuegos, donde tú eres el héroe que salva a la humanidad, mientras que aquí tienes que destruirla extendiendo tu virus. Una lucha entre tú y la humanidad. Probablemente en un mes llegue para Linux, ya que por el momento solo es posible jugar en Windows y Mac OS X.

HTC One E9 press renders leak, announcement imminent

HTC One E9 and One E9+ have been in our rumor section for quite some time. We recently learned that the HTC A55 we thought is the One E9 is actually the One E9+ and it was quietly revealed by HTC China ahead of its debut on April 8 in Beijing.

HTC One E9+ is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6795M chipset with octa-core CPU, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of expandable storage. It features a 13 MP camera at the back and 4MP UltraPixel camera at the front.

Now, back to the HTC One E9. It is rumored to pack a lower resolution display and camera – it should feature a 5.0" or 5.5" 1080p display and a 13MP rear camera. Previous rumors suggest a Snapdragon 810 chip instead of MediaTek, but this is yet to be confirmed.

Today we got some leaked press renders of the HTC One E9 for you, courtesy of @upleaks. The device looks identical to the HTC One E9+ though this is hardly a surprise – a big display at front, stereo BoomSound speakers and a plastic rear panel.

Hoy os vamos a presentar Lolabits, una alternativa muy importante a tener en cuenta que acaba de aterrizar en Android y que, en pocas palabras, nos ofrece almacenamiento totalmente ilimitado.

Sí, efectivamente, con Lolabits no tendremos problemas de espacio para guardar nuestros archivos, ya que tendremos espacio ilimitado. Lo que Lolabits nos permite gracias a su aplicación es descargar y subir, gestionar y compartir nuestros archivos, acceder y modificar nuestra cuenta desde la propia aplicación y sincronizar los datos que tengamos en nuestro dispositivo con la nube para que se suban automáticamente.

Otra de las cosas que le dan un valor añadido a Lolabits es la capacidad para buscar, dentro de sus propios servidores otros archivos, como músiva, vídeos, libros o imágenes siempre y cuando estos sean marcados por los usuarios como públicos. Volvemos una semana más con un nuevo “Pregúntale a Andro4all”, esa sección en la que, como sabéis, vosotros sois los protagonistas, planteándonos todas vuestras dudas relativas al sistema operativo Android y a Andro4all. Como cada semana, las preguntas han sido muchas, así que hemos tenido que hacer un buen proceso de selección. Así, intentaremos encontrar soluciones a algunas de las preguntas más comunes entre todos vosotros, y otras que quizás no suelen ser tan usuales, pero igual de importantes.

Por ejemplo, hablaremos de un tema candente como es el de la batería, algo que preocupa a la mayoría de usuarios, como es lógico. Es cierto que todavía no existen avances demasiado importantes respecto a su duración, aunque sí se está trabajando en mejorar ciertos aspectos, como una carga más rápida gracias a la tecnología Quick Charge 2.0 de Qualcomm, o ahorros de energía por software que incluyen algunos fabricantes en sus dispositivos.

Este no será el único tema a tratar, por supuesto, y es que también habrá tiempo para intentar encontrar una tablet con buena cámara –si es que existen–, o hablar de una cuestión tan recurrente como la de qué smartphone regalar, en este caso a una madre, y es que siempre resulta complicado encontrar la mejor opción en estos casos, ya que las opciones entre las que elegir son muchas.Sin más, os dejamos ya con el vídeo:
