As per the Microsoft’s Windows Phone support page, the Lumia 625 and Lumia 1320 have received the WP 8.10.14234.375 Denim update. This new update brings plethora of features and improvements such as the new Lumia camera app, Cortana voice activation, Glance Screen, and better imaging experience.

Chinese handset maker OPPO is about to expand its R series with a new ultra-slim handset – R7. Expected to be a mid-range device like the other R series handsets, the new R7 just got certified from the Indonesian Telecom Certification authority.

Over a month after the Wall Street Journal reported that Microsoft was planning to become a minority investor in Cyanogen, a report from Bloomberg is suggesting otherwise.

As per the report, the software giant is not investing in the alternative mobile operating system company, although it may partner with the latter to get its software onto Cyanogen’s mobile OS.

Samsung’s new flagship devices are awaited in several markets. Carriers have already ordered about 20 million units of the new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.

Samsung, which according to Gartner is no longer the world's top smartphone manufacturer, has said that it will use more premium materials in its mobile devices in a bid to gain more customers, according to Bloomberg. As per the report, the company plans to launch more smartphones with metal casings, slim designs, and high-definition displays.

“Samsung Electronics aims to consolidate its leadership in the premium market and plans to newly change the smartphone line-up to strengthen competitiveness,” said Co-CEO JK Shin, who also heads the mobile phone business. Availability of Samsung Galaxy S6 edge might be limited by supply of curved glass for the device’s display. Samsung has partnered with Corning to create the dual curved display for its hot new flagship smartphone.

Reportedly, Samsung planned to ship between 8 million and 8.5 million curved glass units in Q2 this year. However, low yield will prevent the Korean giant’s supplier to ship more than 6.5 million units. Samsung is allegedly looking for new suppliers to address the issue.

The dual curved glass of Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is made using 3D thermoforming. The material is heated to 800 degrees Celsius in order to be molded into its unique shape.

The finished curved glass component isn’t cheap either. It is said to cost around $25.

It is hardly a surprise that Samsung is trying to increase the curved glass yield for Galaxy S6 edge. Since its introduction, the smartphone has gathered a great deal of attention – it won the “Best new handset award at MWC 2015.

Back in December Meizu first made the M1 Note official as its competitor of sorts to the highly successful Xiaomi Redmi Note (and other affordable phablets, of course). Then in January a new version with a different chipset got announced, but both of these have so far only been available in China.

That's about to change soon, however. Meizu's official online store for international markets now has the banner image you can see below displayed when you visit it.

So it's clear – the M1 Note will shortly be offered to international buyers as well. What's still a mystery though is which version will be sold outside of China, the one with the MediaTek MT6752 SoC or the one with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 at the helm.

The former seems to have the edge when it comes to performance, because its CPU has eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz, whereas the Snapdragon 615 comes with a processor that has four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and the other four going up only to 1 GHz.

Whatever happens in this regard, the rest of the specs are obviously going to stay the same. So you should expect the Meizu M1 Note to pack a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, a 5 MP selfie snapper, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of non-expandable storage, and a 3,140 mAh battery. The handset will run Meizu's Flyme OS 4.0, based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

International pricing is unknown at the moment. In China the M1 Note starts at CNY 999 (that's $160), but we're expecting there to be a slight premium for other markets. Just how much that will be remains to be seen however.
