State of VR
While not limited to games, with GDC on this week, VR has moved back into the news with a range of sweeping technology, gear and project reports. From games engines to new headgear, and coming off the strong content discussions at the VR special event at Sundance last month, VR remains the hot topic for gamers, geeks and VC funding.

Honor 4X, primeras impresiones del hermano pequeño del Honor 6 Plus

Huawei lleva haciendo un gran trabajo de un tiempo hasta ahora, y prueba de ello son los últimos terminales que la macra asiática ha presentado durante este MWC 2015 de Barcelona. Si el otro día fue el momento para contaros nuestras impresiones acerca del Honor 6 Plus, ahora es el turno de presentaros a su hermano pequeño, el Honor 4X.

Procesador Kirin 620 a 1,2 GHz de 64 bits
RAM 2 GB
Sistema operativo Android 4.4.2 KitKat
Almacenamiento 8 GB ampliables mediante tarjeta microSD
Cámaras Trasera 13 megapíxeles y delantera de 5 megapíxeles
Batería 3000 mAh
Otros Redes 4G/LTE, LED de notificaciones, batería extraíble

En esta ocasión contamos con un dispositivo fabricado en plástico, con botonera en el chasis y LED de notificaciones. Respecto al hardware, vemos que se trata de una versión recortada del Honor 6 Plus, aún así estamos ante un dispositivo muy decente.

Con una pantalla IPS de 5,5 pulgadas HD, el terminal se mueve realmente bien gracias a sus 2 GB de RAM. Además, como todo terminal de Huawei, estamos ante un dispositivo que realiza magníficas fotografías, gracias a su cámara trasera de 13 megapíxeles y delantera de 5.

El único pero que le encontramos, es que no dispone de Android 5.0 Lollipop en su interior, si no de la versión anterior, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, aunque suponemos que recibirá la actualización. Por lo demás, un dispositivo que cumple en todos sus apartados y en el que se nota que Huawei ha trabajado para ofrecer un producto de calidad.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is receiving Android 5.0 too

It's clearly Android 5.0 Lollipop update season for Samsung smartphones these days (at least the high-end ones, that is). We've seen a lot of rollouts starting over the past few days, and the latest device to get to run the newest iteration of Google's mobile OS is the Galaxy S5 Active.

This is the vanilla Galaxy S5's a lot more rugged sibling, which launched last year. And while the S5 itself has been enjoying Lollipop for quite some time, the Galaxy S5 Active is only now starting to taste it.

The first rollout for this update is happening in Europe's Nordic region. People who purchased S5 Active units from the countries making that up can expect to see an update notification pop up soon. The file size for the download will be around 1.4GB, keep that in mind if you wish to get it via your carrier's network.

After successfully installing the new software, you'll be running Android 5.0, build G870FXXU1BOB4. If you haven't received the update notification yet, you can manually check by using the option in Settings > About phone > Software update.
