Here’s what the different steel Watch versions will cost you

The stainless steel version of the Apple Watch is probably going to be the most popular option among future Apple Watch customers.

It offers rich customization options – for the watch body color and the strap used. Twenty different versions are available, depending on your choice for the body size and color, as well as the strap style.

Pricing varies depending on your choice, so here's a recap of the prices of all versions, laid neatly all on one page.

We've listed the bigger 42mm watches below, but as a rule of thumb, you can get the price of the 38mm version by subtracting $50 / €50 from the price of the 42mm one.

Also, when you're considering the correct size for your wrist, have in mind that the listed length in millimeters is not the screen diagonal but the width of the Watch body (not just the screen, but the whole chassis without the crown).

42mm steel Watch with Sport band – $599 / €699
The cheapest style of the steel Watch comes with a Sports band, not unlike the one used on the cheaper Apple Watch Sport. This one however has the benefit of using a sturdier body made out of stainless steel rather than aluminum alloy. It also has a sapphire glass front instead of mere ion-strengthened glass. You also get a Watch that's compatible with the rest of the standard strap styles so you can get a new strap further down the road.

Consider this the entry level steel Apple Watch. All styles available for the 38mm version for $50 / €50 less.

42mm steel Watch with Black classic buckle or with Milanese loop – $699 / €799

Add a hundred over the entry level steel Apple Watch price and you get a version with much more upscale feeling. It's either a classic leather strap or a finely woven stainless steel strap with a magnetic clasp. Perhaps most people will go for either of these versions, which would make them the most popular styles.

Also make note that the classic leather strap is your best bet if you have an extra large wrist, as it's the only wrist strap that would cover wrists up to 215mm in circumference.

The two styles are available for the 38mm version for $50 / €50 less.

42mm steel Watch with Leather loop – $699 / €799

The Leather loop style is one of the more exquisite Apple watch styles. It costs the same as the previous two styles and owing to its unique look, it certainly sets the digital Apple Watch from the most of the non-digital watches out there, also helped by its magnetic clasp.

This one has an equal potential for becoming one of the most popular Apple Watch styles. All these styles are available for the 38mm version for $50 / €50 less.

38mm steel Watch with Modern buckle – $749 / €849

We wanted to list only the 42mm versions here, but as it turns out, the 38mm version has an exclusive style of its own – the leather strap with a Modern buckle. It certainly looks nice, but it doesn't come cheap. Not the least. Perhaps this one will be the sweet spot for the ladies. This style is not available for the 42mm version.

42mm steel Watch with Link bracelet – $999 / €1,149 (gray) or $1,099 / €1,249 (black)

And finally, these all-metal Link bracelets are the most expensive option among the available styles. The Space black stainless steel bracelet comes with a matching Space black colored Watch body. The only way to go more expensive than that is to jump for one of the Editions Watches – they start at $10,000 and the most expensive one will set you back as much as $17,000.

It sounds like a solid guess that the sweet spot for the steel Watch is the price level of $699 / €799. This would get you the Watch with a choice of one Leather strap with black classic buckle, or one stainless steel Milanese loop strap, or one Leather loop strap.

Of course, we may be looking in the wrong direction here, so shout out your favorite steel Watch style in the comments section…

Apple Watch pricing starts at $349, pre-orders start on April 10

The pricing of the three main versions of the Apple Watch was finally announced at the company's Spring forward event.

The Apple Watch Sport is made out of special aluminum alloy, which is 60% tougher than regular alloys, but still as light. It's offered in 38mm and 42mm versions and will cost $349 and $399, respectively.

Then there's the Apple Watch, what you'd consider to be the classic version. It features a stainless steel body and its price is dependent on the band you choose. Prices for the 38mm range from $549 to $1049, while the 42mm will sell from $599 to $1099.

Finally, the Apple Watch Edition, which is made out of 18K gold is going to start at $10,000 for the 38mm one and $12,000 for the 42mm. Tim Cook didn't specify any further pricing information about it but one thing's for sure, it's a limited edition thing and will only be offered in select Apple stores.

Customers can try the two simpler versions of the Apple Watch in many Apple retail stores starting April 10. You can pre-order them from the same date with purchases shipping from April 24. Not all countries will get it at first, as sales will commence in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UK and the…

New Lenovo flagship to be unveiled on March 23

The centerpiece of Lenovo's MWC stand was undoubtedly the photography-oriented Vibe Shot. While undeniably an intriguing device, it's a specialized offering, and one that leaves room for improvement in certain key areas.

Well, those are going to be addressed in the company's proper flagship Vibe Z3 Pro, reported to be announced on March 23. Lenovo teased the event on Chinese social media but revealed no further details.

We wrote about the Vibe Z3 Pro a while back, with leaked specs and images, but then the Vibe Shot was surprisingly introduced, and claimed those photos to be its own. The hardware of the camera-centric smartphone was altogether different though, so we can safely assume that at least the specsheet belonged the Vive Z3 Pro.

We can expect the successor to the capable Vibe Z2 Pro phablet to pack the Snapdragon 810 as the rest of this year's high-end crowd (save for the Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 edge, obviously). Operating memory will likely be 4GB, and both the chipset and RAM are a step up from the Snapdragon 615 and 3GB in the Vibe Shot.

Display size is rumored to be 5.5 inches, instead of the 6-inch panel found on the previous generation, with the QHD resolution resulting in a stellar 534ppi density. The smaller screen means less strain on the battery and a 3400mAh cell will replace the monstrous 4000mAh unit in the Vibe Z2 Pro.

Aside from the event date, however, all of this is little more than speculation, fueled by rumors. With only two weeks before everything's official though, the wait isn't all that long.

Gold HTC One M9 available for preorder from EE in the UK

Just a few hours ago, the HTC One M9 was spotted for preorder in the UK. The device was listed by the Carphone Warehouse and it goes for £850, off contract and free on a £43.50 a month plan. This is all fair enough, but the deal is for a unit in silver or one in "Gun Metal Gray".

If, however, you are lusting after the all-gold version, you'll have to go with EE. The device is currently going to be exclusive to the carrier and is offered for £99.99 with a £36.99 per month plan. If you want you can reduce the upfront cost to £19.99 with plans starting at £46.99 per month. Sadly, the gold One M9 can't be purchased off-contract.

Both Carphone Warehouse and EE deals are up now and both vendors state that the One M9 will start shipping to clients by the end of the month. By then HTC DOT View II cases will also be available, which Carphone Warehouse even throws in as a free pre-order bonus.

Asus Zenfone 2 prices unveiled in Taiwan, 4GB model is $285

Asus unveiled the Zenfone 2 earlier this year and several additional versions after that, which caused some confusion about pricing. An Asus Zenfone 2 would have 4GB RAM and a Zenfone 2 would cost $200, just not the same device of course.

Asus held an event in Taiwan for the release of the phones, which helps clear up some things.

Here it goes. The top model, ZE551ML, has a 5.5" 1080p screen, 4GB of RAM, 2.3GHz quad-core Intel processor and 32GB of built-in storage and will go for NTD 8,990, the equivalent of $285.

Dropping to 2GB of RAM and 1.8GHz processor reduces the price tag to NTD 6,990, $220. This one is also called ZE551ML, to make things more confusing.

The ZE550ML is further down the price ladder with a 5.5" 720p screen. It goes for NTD 5,990 ($190) and has a the same 1.8GHz processor with 2GB of RAM but less storage, 16GB.

The current lowest rung, the ZE500CL, is a smaller, 5" phone with a 720p display, 1.6GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. This one is NTD 4,990 or $160

All of these devices are called "Asus Zenfone 2" so be mindful of the exact model number and double check the specs to make sure you're getting the one you really want. We really wish Asus would come up with a sane naming scheme, right now it feels like its entire product range is called "Zenfone…
