Since its announcement a few days ago at MWC, the Galaxy S6 has rapidly gained popularity, like nothing we have ever seen. Preorders are flooding in and the interest for the device is almost ridiculous. But the Galaxy S6 edge is the device that is truly turning heads.

The double-edged flagship is enjoying an amazing amount of attention both from the press and Samsung fans. If you have you heart set on the curvy device, now it is available for preorder in the UK on ebay. The official release date for the handset is April 10, so naturally, that is when the unit will ship.

The ebay vendor actually has four device listings, including the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in black or white. All of the devices are unlocked for any network and are priced as follows – £549.99 for a 32GB Galaxy S6 and £649 for the 64GB S6 edge, regardless of color.

This is not the only UK vendor that currently accepts preorders, for the device, but definitely seems to one of the best deals around. MobileFun.co.uk has the 64GB S6 edge for £700, but also offers a 32GB version for £649. The 32GB S6 goes for £579 at this vendor. This is a little pricier, but all three variants can also be pre-ordered in Gold color. Both phones are also listed on unclockemobiles.com – £649.98 for the Galaxy S6 edge and £549.89 for the regular model, but the site does not mention anything about storage or color options.

Of course the phones will soon be available on contract in the UK, as well. EE, O2, Three, Vodafone and Virgin mobile have all hinted that the devices are coming, but this will probably happened after the April 10 release date. So if you are really eager to get your hands on one, the aforementioned retailers might be your best bet for now.

Samsung reportedly received orders totaling 15 million Galaxy S6 and 5 million Galaxy S6 edge units from carriers. This demand seems to have surprised even the company, which is now scrambling to manufacture enough units.

Korean publication Etnews reports that the initial plans were for 12 million units total – 8 million of the Galaxy S6 and 4 million of the S6 edge. The total number has been revised to 13 million.

Of those, 4 million Galaxy S6 units will roll off the assembly lines this month along with 1 million Galaxy S6. Those will be followed by the April production run, which will bring the total to 13 million.

This means some carriers may need to delay the launch of the S6 flagship duo and even if they don't the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge will be in limited supply at launch time.

Xiaomi is bringing its affordable Redmi 2 smartphone to Singapore this month. You'll be able to buy it from March 17 at a retail price of S$169, which translates to $122 by the current rates.

Don't let the price tag fool you though, because the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is a more competent package than it suggests. For starters, you get a 4.7-inch IPS display of 720p resolution, which our review of the Redmi 2 showed to be sharp and quite bright, even if not acing the sunlight legibility department.

Qualcomm's entry-level 64-bit Snapdragon 410 is in charge of providing computing power, and is joined by a single gig of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. For the moment, that's the model that will be available in Singapore, and not the better equipped 2GB/16GB version.

Even so, the Redmi 2 comes with Cat.4 LTE connectivity for download speeds up to 150Mbps, and a couple of SIM card slots for dual-standby capability. While 2200mAh may now sound like much, our findings proved the battery in the Redmi 2 performs adequately.

Huawei chose not to fight with the big names at MWC on the smartphone front, and instead pulled a joker out of its sleeve and announced one of the most compelling smartwatches on the market, the Huawei Watch. The Ascend P7 flagship is due for a replacement though, and it's apparently coming in April.

In a teaser image posted on Chinese social site Weibo, the company revealed its plans for the launch of the Huawei P8, supposedly without the Ascend moniker, from now on. The image focuses on the future flagship's battery, showing an segment display-style 8 digit, with one of the segments replaced by a full battery indicator and a divine light shining upon it.

We should know better, than try to read into the resulting 6, but wouldn't it be great if we ever get a smartphone that can last a whole 6 days? With the expected slim profile and the current state of technology, that's obviously impossible. The company could have put the battery on the left, and avoid all speculation though, so the 6 might just actually mean something.

Moving on from guesswork to rumors, we reported that the new flagship from Huawei will sport a 5.2-inch FullHD screen (we know how Huawei CEO feels about QHD) and ceramic uni-body. The in-house Kirin 930 chipset that debuted on the MediaPad X2 will find its place in the P8 as well, joined by 3GB of RAM. A dual-camera arrangement similar to the one in the Honor 6 Plus may sit on the back, with a supposed bump to 13MP.

We'll need to wait a bit more for all this to be confirmed, but with the Huawei P8 and the LG G4 expected next month, April is shaping to be quite eventful.

Bringing Lollipop to Motorola devices has proven to be a quite difficult and lengthy endeavor. Users of various Moto devices have had mixed luck with the OS update and various reports have been pouring in from all around the world during the last few months.

The original Moto E and the Moto Maxx have recently received Lollipop and so have certain Moto X (2014) variants. But the whole situation is rather messy, especially with first-gen models. Soak tests have been going on for a while stretching over several different builds, including Android 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and even 5.1.

One of our readers, today, reports that the original Moto G (2013), that is the X1032 model, is receiving Lollipop 5.0.2 in the UK. The update came a few days after a notification from Motorola Update Services announced that the package will be seeding shortly. There is still no notification of the update, but manually checking the Update menu earlier today, has yielded the long-anticipated result.

Hopefully the long update delay has given Motorola the chance to patch various issues with early Android 5 builds and the 5.0.2 builds that have begun seeding will offer the stability and performance that Moto devices are expected to deliver.

So if you own a first generation Moto G from the UK, you might just be in luck. Head on over and grab your OTA. Just a few days after Sony revealed that the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released only for the Xperia Z series devices, it is being reported that the Xperia Z2, Z3, and Z3 Compact handsets in India will be getting it sometime this month.

The news comes from the company's Indian R&D team, which also revealed that the update for the Xperia Z3 would be around 630 Megabytes in size, while that for the Xperia Z2 would be around 518 Megabytes.

Alleged press render of the unannounced LG G4 made the rounds on Twitter. The image showcases the back of the smartphone in what appears to be a gray color scheme.

As you can see above, LG G4 appears too look a lot like its predecessor, LG G3. A beefed up camera sensor is the biggest difference between the newcomer and the 2014 top dog.

LG’s power/lock key, volume rocker, laser focus, and dual-LED flash have remained intact. The same goes for the placement of the sole speaker on the back of the phone.

The render is reportedly an early one, so the final device might look a tad different when it launches. Purported measures of the LG G4 are 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm.

Google officially launched Android 5.1 to compatible hardware. Naturally, Motorola Nexus 6 and HTC Nexus 9 will be among the first to receive an update to the new firmware.

Android 5.1 Lollipop brings a number of new features and improvements to the search giant’s mobile platform. They include HD voice support, Device Protection, and support for multiple SIM cards. The latter is particularly important for ultra-affordable Android One devices.

Speaking of Android One, the platform’s page was the first to reveal Android 5.1 last month. The Lollipop update was initially expected to go live in February.

Other Android 5.1 goodies include the ability control paired Bluetooth devices from Quick Settings. Users can also join Wi-Fi networks in similar fashion.

An HTC One M9 retail listing points at an end of the month launch for the high-end smartphone. The retail giant B&H listed the smartphone with March 25 launch date and $649 price tag.

The launch date and the price tag were quickly removed from the listing by the retailer, so we might indeed have seen the actual launch date of HTC One M9. B&H has a stellar track record as a retailer, so there is little reason to doubt its listing.

As we told you yesterday, the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for the original HTC One sold by T-Mobile was supposed to start rolling out tomorrow, as an HTC exec announced. But it looks like the Taiwanese company decided to surprise owners of the One on T-Mobile, since the rollout was actually started today.

Several owners of HTC One units bought from T-Mobile in the US are reporting having received the update already. As you can see from the screenshot on the left, the download comes in at a pretty hefty 729.59MB.

After applying it, you'll be running build number 7.18.531.2, powered by Android Lollipop of course. The new Lollipop UI style will be immediately noticeable, most clearly in the lock screen, notifications, and Recent apps showcase. A search function has showed up in the Settings menu too.

Some unnamed bug fixes and enhancements are present in the update as well, HTC says. If you have an original One bought from T-Mobile and it hasn't yet notified you about the update, it should do so within the next few days. The rollout is probably staged, as these things always are.
