Wine migra para dejar SourceForge

Tras los abusos del portal SourceForge, hasta no hace mucho admirado en la comunidad y últimamente puesto en duda, algunos proyectos ya han decidido irse de este portal para plantarse en otros alternativos. Uno de ellos ha sido Wine, el famoso software para correr software nativo para Windows en sistemas operativos *nix.

Después del caso de GIMP para Windows y de otros proyectos de código abierto, como Firefox y otros grandes afectados por los movimientos y política de la última era de SourceForge.net, ahora Wine también mueve ficha para alejarse del portal. Y es que la comunidad open-source está bastante descontenta y aun no sabemos las explicaciones de SourceForge a lo ocurrido.

Hace unos días así lo anunciaron desde los desarrolladores encargados de Wine. Ellos están planeando mover los tarballs colgados en el portal hacia otros sitios que aun no conocemos cuales serán o si simplemente lo retirarán de SourceForge y nada más, ya que Wine y sus complementos pueden ser descargados desde otras webs, como la propia oficial del proyecto.

Sony Xperia Z4 now available for purchase in Japan

The Xperia Z4 smartphone – which was unveiled by Sony in Japan back in April this year – is now available for purchase in the country, where NTT docomo is offering it for 93,312 yen ($755).

The carrier has also rolled out an update (with build number 28.0.B.0.457) to the device that fixes an issue related to its speaker volume. The handset will be launched by other Japanese carriers in the coming days.

For those who aren't aware, the Xperia Z4 also has a global version, dubbed Xperia Z3+, which was made official late last month and is set to go on sale later this month.

Android Auto now supports Galaxy S4 and S5 on three US carriers

If you are on AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon, and own a Samsung Galaxy S4 or S5, here is some good news: the devices are now supported by Android Auto.

This means that you can now access turn-by-turn navigation, make and receive phone calls, read and reply to text messages, and much more, all from the dashboard of your car without taking your hands off the wheel.

If you aren't already aware, Android Auto – which was unveiled back in June last year – is Google's attempt to bring Android into your car. As many as 35 car manufacturers currently support it.
