This whole holding down the shift key and pressing a number to change the hotbar really sucks… via /r/Minecraft

This whole holding down the shift key and pressing a number to change the hotbar really sucks…

I think the whole save/load hotbars thing is a great idea. However, it really sucks that its blinded to the shift key, I keep trying to build in creative, and when I hold shift to float, then switch to another block, it sets my hotbar to something completely different!

Can we please get the option to change this? I don't care if the default is shift, just give me the option to change it to caps-lock or something that I don't use.

How do you think horses would fit better in Minecraft? via /r/Minecraft

How do you think horses would fit better in Minecraft?

I have been wondering how make horses fit better in Minecraft since I read Jens' tweet about changing the horse model, but I think that a remodel isn't enough for such an amazing mob, because they have more "issues" that make them not fit perfectly in Minecraft:

  • Their model: I've seen a model that is so accurate to what we'd like to see, but I've found an issue on it and fixed here.

  • Their hitbox: They are the only big animal whose hitbox is 2 blocks wide. If it was smaller, more people would use them, for example, in forests.

  • Their behavior with leaves/vines: Along with the boat used to do with lillypads, I think horses should just ignore every leaves except if they are underneath them, making them more useful in some biomes. (such as roofed forest, jungle, forests…)

  • Their behavior with water: Horses are extremely strong animals that can swim very good (seen them on a water race), even if they are stucked under the sea.

  • Leads: Why do they loose?

  • Horse armor: We have 4 craftable types of armor in Minecraft, but horses only have got 3. If they just ported from MCPE the craftable dyeable leather horse armor, more people would think that they are fully introduced into the game.

But hey, how do you think horses would fit better in Minecraft? Please let me know 😉
