Las acrobacias circenses te esperan en Swinging Stupendo

El circo no es una temática a la que podamos acercarnos asiduamente, con muy pocas apuestas en forma de videojuego que se sirven de las acrobacias, magia y demás elenco de variedades que uno puede encontrar cuando pasa una tarde en familia en una de las formas de entretenimiento más populares del anterior siglo. Lo que sí que puede valer perfectamente es para juegos casuales donde las acrobacias tengan su razón de ser para demostrar ante el gran público las dotes de uno y así recibir miles de aplausos que llenen de alegría de aquel que casi se juega la vida en cada función.

Swinging Stupendo nos lleva ante lo que es entrar a formar parte de la vida de Stupendo, un acróbata que se valdrá de su pericia en lanzar la cuerda para engancharse de nuevo y sortear todos esos peligros en la forma de obstáculos. De esta forma podrá buscar el aplauso o la sorna del público presente, ya que serán muchas las veces que acabaremos con nuestro cuerpo en el suelo o siendo electrocutado para formar parte de un espectáculo de humor en vez de uno de riesgo y acrobacia. El objetivo será entretener al público que ha venido a ver el gran espectáculo de Stupendo.

A lo Flappy Bird pero en el circo

Stupendo es un juego a lo Flappy Bird, sobre todo en la dificultad que posee y en lo difícil que nos lo pondrá a las primeras de cambio, ya que mientras vamos haciéndonos en el control del lanzamiento de la cuerda al más estilo Tarzán, las caídas serán una detrás de otra. Esas caídas nos pondrán ante un personaje bien diseñado que muestra unas muecas bien graciosas y que serán capaces de sacarnos un poco la sonrisa.

Swinging Stupendo

Un videojuego que se vale de la mecánica de mantener pulsado el botón para lanzar la cuerda y dejar que Stupendo se mueva de izquierda a derecha para que, en el momento que se encuentra casi al límite, volver a pulsarlo para llegar con esa cuerda más lejos aún. Un videojuego desenfadado, con un estilo visual bien acertado y que nos lleva toda la magia de un espectáculo como el que daremos cada vez que nos estampemos en el suelo o seamos electrocutados.

¡Qué empiece la función!

Al igual que Flappy Bird, conseguir la máxima puntuación será lo máximo, mientras que podremos realizar distintas acrobacias para demostrar nuestra valía. Para darle mayor énfasis al gameplay, el juego presenta modo desafío y niveles diarios diseñados para comprobar si tenéis el don de las acrobacias. Otro de los modos es aleatorio donde la cosa se pone bastante difícil, y en definitiva, se logra acertar para que el jugador no desespere y siga viciando a este gran arcade casual.

Swinging Stupendo

Swinging Stupendo es un juego bien divertido para una partida casual de las buenas. Lo tenéis de forma gratuita desde la Play Store, aunque existen los micropagos dentro de la aplicación. Si buscáis un juego desenfadado y que os lleve al pleno espectáculo que es el circo, no perdáis oportunidad de jugar a este buen arcade con una gran dosis de dificultad no apta para personas que sufran del corazón.

Swinging Stupendo

De Swinging Stupendo destaca el diseño del personaje que ya de por si consigue dibujarnos una sonrisa en el rostro. Luego tenemos el diseño en si del videojuego con colores llamativos y unas animaciones bien cuidadas para lo que es también una física cuando va saltando de aquí para allá.

Donde puede chocar es en el nivel de dificultad, pero creo que tiene el suficiente para no defraudarnos y que sigamos jugándole hasta que dominemos bien las acrobacias. Eso sí, os echaréis unas buenas risas a su costa.

Si queréis otro gran casual, lo nuevo del creador de Flappy Bird.

Sony’s 4K Android TV lineup gets three new models

As we expected, Sony unveiled three new 4K Android TV models at CES – the XBR-X930D, XBR-X940D and the XBR-X850D. All three models sport Sony’s updated 4K X1 Processor which allows for improved color accuracy, clarity and contrast. Compared to last year’s models, Sony’s 2016 lineup also comes with improved HDR (high dynamic range) support, allowing the TVs to display a more vivid picture.

The top of the line Sony X930D is also equipped with Sony’s new Slim Backlight Drive technology which intelligently delivery brightness to the TV’s image where needed, without blowing out darker areas and even reducing power consumption.

Sony’s simple “Content Bar” smart TV interface is augmented by Android TV which gives users access to digital content from thousands of Google Play apps and even turns the TV into an Android gaming system when paired with a Bluetooth Controller.

Sony will only be selling the XBR-X940D at 75-inches, but the BR-X930D will be available in 55 and 65-inches while the XBR-X850D model will be available in 55, 65, 75, and 85-inches. All three models will be available in early 2016, but Sony has not shared any details regarding pricing. Based on what Sony’s current 4K Android TV’s are selling phone, we don’t expect the new lineup to be cheap.

Casio WSD-F10 Android Wear smartwatch features a dual-layer TFT, monochrome display

Over the past 18 months or so, we’ve seen a handful of “active” Android Wear smartwatches, but nothing like the new WSD-F10 Smart Outdoor Watch from Casio. Available in gree, orange, black or red, the Casio WSD-F10 can resist being submerged in 50 meters of water and also comes with a MIL-STD-810 “military standard” certified build. But that’s not all that makes Casio’s first Android Wear device unique.

The WSD-F10 sports a 1.32-inch (320×300 pixels) dual layer display which incorporates a Color TFT LCD and monochrome LCD which allows the smartwatch to last more than a single day with regular use or more than when switched over to Timepiece Mode. The watch also comes with pressure, accelerometer, gyrometer and compass sensors along with Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11 b/g/n Wifi connectivity. The device also comes with a microphone, magnetic charging port and dedicated Power, Tools and App buttons so that you can easily interact with the device while wearing gloves. While Casio has packed a lot features into the watch, it only weighs 93 grams and measures 61.7mm x 56.4mm × 15.7mm.

Casio will begin selling the WSD-F10 in April for $500. Yes, that’s a bit more expensive than many of the Android Wear smartwatches that are currently on the market, but the WSD-F10 will be the only true “rugged” Android Wear option for those who can’t leave their technology behind while enjoying the outdoors.

RPG, estrategia en tiempo real y PvP te esperan en el gran Armor Blade

Con un poco de ahínco y con ganas de encontrar alguna grata sorpresa en la Google Play Store, siempre se puede caer ante pequeñas joyas que están haciendo las cosas muy bien para prepararse a lo que será un posible gran éxito como han sido esos Clash of Clans, Monument Valley o Crossy Roads. Uno al que hoy nos vamos a aproximar se inspira de varios géneros y al que más nos puede llegar a recordar es a Final Fantasy pero con algunos cambios un poco notables en el combate. La saga Final Fantasy nos permite recorrer grandes mapas en los que nos encontraremos aleatorios combates con todo tipo de monstruos. El combate aquí era por turnos, algo que difiere en este llamado Armor Blade que pone la nota en la lucha en tiempo real.

Por esto mismo, Armor Blade trae las bases en su gameplay para convertirse en uno de los mejores videojuegos con un toque RPG y estrategia en tiempo real para este año 2016. Esas dos vertientes unidas, la estrategia y combate en tiempo real, pueden desembocar en muchas horas de diversión. Como en otros RPG deberemos de explorar el amplio mapa para encontrar todo tipo de aventuras y hallar esos tesoros que nos aguardan para mejorar nuestra armadura y armas, y así volvernos más poderosos. Una pequeña joya que repasamos hoy mismo en este día de reyes desde Androidsis.

Armor Blade

Un videojuego con toques RPG y estrategia en tiempo real siempre llamará la atención. Esto sucede en el primer instante que echamos una partida que, gracias a unos gráficos cartoon y unas animaciones bien logradas, nos pone ante un combate bien frenético en el que cada una de las decisiones que tomemos tendrá su gran efecto en el enemigo.

Armor Blade

En el combate tendremos dos opciones de llevar la victoria a nuestro lado, una es eliminando completamente al enemigo mientras la otra es al destruir su base. En la primera partida que eché se me pasó defenderme de unos monstruos que fueron directo a la base, pero como los míos eran más poderosos tuvieron el tiempo disponible para destruirla antes que la mía, por lo que se abre una serie de factores a tomar en cuenta cuando nos encontremos con todos esos monstruos que acecharán en ese mapa.

Es en ese mapa donde tendremos la pantalla principal de juego y en el que manejaremos al personaje para ir de un lado hacia otro. Tenemos en nuestra mano la posibilidad de elegir entre tres héroes e incluso poder batallar contra otros jugadores, lo que le da un aspecto multijugador que se agradece que hayan incluido para un videojuego de este calibre.

La estrategia en tiempo real

Al principio del combate tendremos que posicionar bien todo el ejército que tengamos de nuestro lado, ya que como no consigamos resguardar nuestras espaldas, ya no valdrán de nada esos poderes mágicos que posee nuestro héroe y con los que podrá eliminar varios enemigos de una tajada.

Armor Blade

Otro de los puntos vitales es ir desbloqueando tropas nuevas para poder utilizar sus poderes especiales para ir explorando ese mapa que iremos descubriendo según vayamos moviéndonos. Y en definitiva, puedo decir que estamos ante una de las sorpresas para este año 2016 si siguen actualizando y mejorando esa base que tienen de juego, que en si ofrece una mecánica o gameplay que incita a jugarle y mucho.

Lo tenéis de forma gratuita desde la Play Store, aunque con esos micropagos para tomar ventajas con ciertas tropas, pero nada que interrumpa el transcurrir normal del videojuego si uno no quiere pasar por caja. De todas formas, es un título para agradecérselo a los desarrolladores con la compra de alguno de esos micropagos.

En el aspecto técnico

Armor Blade

Armor Blade sorprende en todas sus facetas técnicas. La que más llama la atención es el trato visual a lo cartoon que nos pone ante unos personajes diseñados de gran calidad y que le pone una nota muy buena en términos generales. Los efectos gráficos también tienen lo suyo y las animaciones pueden llegar a ser un poco toscas, pero están muy acordes a los objetivos en el combate, ya que en algún momento podemos notar que algo se escapa de nuestras manos, pero esto realmente ayuda al gameplay.

Un videojuego que se ha de jugar, ya que seguramente que te sorprenderá por lo bien que han hecho las cosas este equipo de desarrollo llamado Come Plus. Esperamos más actualizaciones y más juegos de ellos.

Video: hands-on with the Huawei MediaPad M2

After the Huawei MediaPad M2 was announced yesterday at CES, we had the opportunity to get some hands-on time with the new tablet. The 7.3mm body of the tablet is wrapped in aluminum around the back and sides and a single pane of glass on the front. The device has a premium build, but it can be a bit slippery if you hold it with just one hand. The highlights of the tablet are its four Harman/Kardon speakers and the included M Pen active stylus which is bundled with the $419 version of the tablet.

The MediaPad M2 10 comes in two configurations, one in silver with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and one with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both tablets will come with the same 10-inch 1920×1200 display, 2GHz Kirin 930 Octa-core processor, aluminum alloy body, 13 and 5-megapixel cameras, and Android 5.1.

Honor 5X heading to the US for just $199, planning mid-range domination

Flagship smartphones get all the attention these days, but Huawei is hoping that its new mid-range Honor 5X will change that thanks to its low price and impressive spec list. For $199, the Honor 5X delivers a 1920 x 1080 5.5-inch IPS LCD display, 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD expansion slot, 13 megapixel main camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera and a 3000mAh battery.

While some of those specs appear in many of today’s mid-range phones, the Honor 5X has an impressive F2.4 aperture, 22 mm wide-angle lens with four elements while its 13 megapixel sensor sports 1.4 micron pixels. The phone is also build with an aluminum shell and sports a fingerprint scanner on the back which will allow user to unlock the phone or launch specific functions or app by scanning different finders.

The Honor 5X will go on sale later tonight or early tomorrow morning on Amazon and Newegg for $199.99.

Twitter’s 140-character limit may jump to 10,000 in March

According to multiple reports, Twitter is planning to fundamentally change its social networking service in March by increasing its arbitrary 140 character limit to 10,000. In an effort to retain the same look and feel within Twitter, users would need to click to expand Tweets that are longer than 140 characters.

After the initial news hit the web, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Tweeted a screenshot with a 1,317 character message which seems to confirm the reports.

“We’ve spent a lot of time observing what people are doing on Twitter, and we see them taking screenshots of text and tweeting it. Instead, what if that text… was actually text? Text that could be searched. Text that could be highlighted. That’s more utility and power.”

Expanding Twitter’s character limit from 140 to 10,000 would dramatically change the way Twitter is used and would likely alienate a good portion of Twitter’s user base. That being said, the change would also make the service a lot more appealing for those how enjoy the freedom offered by Facebook and Google+. Twitter has been under a lot of pressure to find new ways to grow its user base and increase revenues.

HTC desvela la segunda generación de su sistema de realidad virtual con grandes cambios

HTC, antaño una de las compañías líderes en el sector de la tecnología móvil, ha desvelado finalmente su gran apuesta rompedora en el campo de la realidad virtual. Hace unas horas, la firma con sede en Taiwan mostraba al público atendiendo su evento en el CES 2016 su segunda generación de gafas HTC Vive, las nuevas y mejoradas Vive Pre.

Las nuevas Vive Pre se basan en la pasada generación de gafas de realidad virtual, las cuales no gozaron de todo el impacto mediático que hubiera sido deseado, aunque fueron una de las mejores apuestas en este campo. Esta iteración presenta un diseño ligeramente renovado, centrándose en la mejora de los auriculares, diversos aspectos de visualización y un nuevo arquetipo de mando o sistema de control.

Nuevas características y mejoras

Una de las principales mejoras que presentan las Vive Pre respecto a su anterior generación es la inclusión de una cámara frontal. Además, este nuevo dispositivo es más ligero y menos voluminoso comparado con el modelo anterior. Las Vive Pre también mejoran las correas de ajuste al rostro e incluyen protectores de gomaespuma intercambiables para ajustarse a diferentes tamaños.

La claridad y resolución de las gafas de realidad virtual también mejoran en este nuevo modelo gracias a la inclusión de una nueva tecnología en el panel que presenta pantallas más brillantes y un movimiento más suave. Ahora, las Vive Pre también incorporan una cámara frontal, la cual es usada a modo de sistema “acompañante”, tal y como ha sido mostrado en las demos dentro del evento de HTC.

Una de las características más innovadoras implementadas en el sistema es la posibilidad de realzar objetos del mundo real en el mundo virtual, dando pie a la interacción entre estas dos realidades. De esta manera, podremos gozar de cierta consciencia de los elementos del mundo real, lo cual nos proporcionará un nivel mayor de seguridad a la hora de desplazarnos con el sistema en la cabeza.

Los mandos adoptan un nuevo diseño

En la segunda generación del sistema de realidad virtual de HTC, los mandos presumen de un nuevo diseño mucho más ergonómico con áreas más accesibles que proporcionan mayor agarre. Asimismo, las Vive Pre gozan ahora de un gatillo de dos etapas con bordes más suaves. No olvidemos que este sistema de realidad virtual se encontraba hasta hace poco en una etapa inmadura. HTC announces Vive Pre virtual reality headset

HTC delayed the Vive virtual reality headset, but for good reason. The company claimed that there was a major improvement to Vive that would delay the product. And today, HTC has announced the improvements made to the newly redesigned Vive Pre.

A big design decision was to add a front facing camera. A VR headset blocking your entire view isn’t exactly great when you can’t see anything around you. If you need to take a drink or speak to someone, the front-facing camera will allow you to see the outside world without taking off the headset.

The Vive Pre has also been made far more comfortable and compact. The foam inserts and nose gaskets are interchangeable to fit many different face types, the strap has been improved for better balance, and the entire thing has been made smaller. The controllers have been updated with better materials and a more ergonomic shape as well, and the charging base is quieter and more compact.

The changes aren’t massive, but a better product is definitely worth the wait. It’s slated to be launched in April of 2016. Will you be picking one up?

Samsung incorpora una tablet gigante a la nevera

Samsung nos ha sorprendido en este CES 2016 presentando un nuevo modelo de nevera que funciona con el sistema operativo Android. No es la primera vez que la marca surcoreana experimenta con los electrodomésticos, por ejemplo, el año pasado lanzó al mercado a un precio de 6000 dólares otra nevera denominada “Chef Collection” (aunque también anuncio dos más en años anteriores).

Cómo nos podemos imaginar, la nueva versión, llamada “Family Hub Refrigerator” tendrá un precio igual de prohibitivo, pero, después de todo estos productos solo existen para empujar al mercado hacía la tecnología, obviamente no son un producto de masas. Pequeños pasos hacia la domótica.

Lo que diferencia a este refrigerador de sus antecesores, es que tiene una pantalla de gran tamaño, en concreto de 21,5 pulgadas, situada en una de sus cuatro puertas. Básicamente es una tablet gigante ahí incrustada, e incluso tiene los clásicos botones táctiles de navegación característicos del sistema Android.

Cómo su nombre indica, es un completo centro multimedia y de organización, con sistema de audio, calendario, multitud de aplicaciones más. Además, se puede conectar a los teléfonos Samsung de forma que podemos compartir entre ambos equipos imágenes, fechas en el calendario, recordatorios. Como curiosidad, la nevera incorpora un sistema de cámaras interno gracias al que, desde el smartphone, podremos ver el interior de la misma.

Puede resultar útil por ejemplo cuando estemos haciendo la compra y no nos acordemos de si tenemos o no tenemos que comprar un determinado alimento. Y hablando de compras, Samsung ha llegado a un acuerdo con Mastercard para poder realizar compras directamente desde la pantalla de la nevera. Desde luego, hacer la compra ya no supondrá ningún esfuerzo para los que tengan esta nevera.

Por lo demás, es una nevera americana corriente y moliente, con dispensador de hielo, y cuatro compartimentos. Es de gran tamaño, pero, por lo que parece en algunas imágenes, se podrá adquirir por módulos, de manera que ocupe menos espacio.
