Back in September of last year, Nextbit officially introduced the Robin, an Android-powered smartphone that is “cloud-first.” With an eye-catching design and features that focus on storing and pulling things from the cloud, it earned plenty of attention. And after a successful stint on Kickster, it is about to start shipping. At least for the first 1,000 Kickstarter backers, anyway.
As revealed by the company’s chief designer, Scott Croyle, the Robin will begin shipping to the first 1,000 Kickstarter backers beginning February 16. However, while that’s certainly good news for those lucky 1,000, it is only of the GSM model to start. For anyone that backed a CDMA model, the wait continues.
There’s no word on when other backers will start to see their device shipped or when the CDMA models will get their first shipments.

Tras un buen número de filtraciones y rumores, el pasado mes de noviembre se ponía a la venta la BlackBerry PRIV, o lo que es lo mismo, la primera BlackBerry con Android. Lo hacía excluivamente en territorio americano, pero ahora, unos tres meses después, la compañía amplía horizontes, y pone a la venta en España esta BlackBerry PRIV.
Cabe destacar que la BlackBerry Priv mantiene una de las señas de identidad de la empresa, es decir, el teclado físico que tanto nos gusta a muchos, y que en esta ocasión es deslizante, escondiéndose detrás de una gran pantalla de 5,4 pulgadas con resolución Quad HD. También presume de ser un dispositivo muy seguro, con un software diseñado para ofrecer un nivel de privacidad superior, de ahí su nombre.
A continuación, os mostramos todas las especifiaciones técnicas de la BlackBerry PRIV.
Como vemos, estamos ante un smartphone de gama alta en todos los apartados, por está a la altura para ser uno de los equipos más interesantes del mercado actual.

De nuevo os traemos las primeras impresiones de otro dispositivo de Huawei presentado en el CES de Las Vegas. En esta ocasión es un smartwatch, más precisamente dos nuevas versones del Huawei Watch que ya analizamos en su momento. Se trata del Huawei Watch Elegant y el Huawei Watch Jewel.
La firma china nos presenta dos dispositivos cuya única diferencia respecto al Huawei Watch original radica a quienes van dirigidos. Obviamente se trata de relojes dirigidos al público femenino y esto lo vemos en cuanto observamos su diseño. Tanto el Elegant como el Jewel comparten la misma construcción sobre un chasis bañador en oro rosa, pero el Jewel lleva incrustados 68 cristales de Swarovski que obviamente repercuten en el precio final del producto.
Por lo demás, mismas especificaciones técnicas que el Huawei Watch, es decir, pantalla de 1,4 pulgadas con resolución 400 x 400 píxeles y un procesador Snapdragon 400 en su interior junto a 512 MB de memoria RAM y 4 GB de almacenamiento.
Cabe destacar por otro lado, que gracias a estos modelos y la nueva versión de Android Wear, podremos realizar y recibir llamadas telefónicas, algo que puede servirnos de utilidad si no queremos sacar el dispositivo del bolsillo o bolso.

La versión del Huawei Watch Elegant tendrá un precio de unos 499 dólares mientras que la versión Jewel, al tener 68 cristales de Swarovski, tendrá un precio de 599 dólares.
Obviamente se trata de un modelo destinado al género femenino y a sus muñecas por lo general, más pequeñas que las de los hombres. Cada uno o una tendrá que valorar si el diseño le gusta o no, o si estará dispuesto o dispuesta a pagar este precio por un terminal con Android Wear; pero nosotros ya dijimos en su momento que el Huawei Watch era posiblemente si no el mejor, uno de los mejores smartwatches del momento.

Withings continues to charge hard at the wearable market without going head to head with the true smartwatch crowd.
The Withings Go is the latest offering and it takes a decidedly more dressed down approach than the Activité line, but at least in my opinion a more compelling look than the Pulse 02.
That 8 months of battery life is probably going to be the highlight feature of the Go for those that can’t stomach the idea of another gadget to charge. The E Ink screen and of course minimal functionality are responsible for that extended battery life. The Go is simply there to track your sleep and fitness activity and provide the time when called upon to do so.
The Go comes with two modules in the box; the first is a clip to attach to your pants, shirt, sports bra or perhaps your shoelaces and the second is a rubber watch style band. The modules come in either black, yellow, red, blue or green.
The Go is also able to be worn while swimming, something most of the more advanced fitness trackers don’t recommend, and will successfully differentiate between activities like swimming, running or walking.
While you can view your daily activity progress on the E Ink display, there is far more data to be had when viewing the Health Mate app.
The Withings Go certainly isn’t going to be for everyone given the stripped down functionality versus a smartwatch, but for those that only really care about fitness tracking and want to just put something on and forget about it the $69 Withings Go will be a compelling package when it launches later this year.

Si a través de tus años como poseedor de un smartphone o dispositivo tecnológico nunca has roto alguna parte del mismo, es que realmente no le has debido dar mucho uso. Lo peor de que se rompa cualquier parte de un terminal no es la avería en sí, sino el alto precio que normalmente suelen tener los elementos a reemplazar, además de la “mano de obra” que se cobra por el tiempo empleado en la reparación.
Parece que las reglas del juego están cambiando ya que OnePlus está intentando hacer el proceso de reparación lo más transparente posible. Con esta misión en mente, la joven start up china hizo pública para sus clientes en India hace varios días una lista muy completa con todas las piezas de repuesto, junto a su coste, disponibles para su reducida familia de smartphones.
Desafortunadamente, hay muchos precios sorprendentes ya que no son tan asequibles como en un primer momento se hubiera esperado. Como habrás podido adivinar, los repuestos con el coste más elevado son el digitalizador, el panel frontal, la cámara trasera y la placa base, la cual alberga todo tipo de elementos esenciales como el procesador, la memoria y los puertos de carga entre otros.
De manera comparativa, tres componentes esenciales como son la pantalla( digitalizador y cristal frontal), la cámara y la placa base cuestan, respectivamente unos 100, 30 y 175 euros. En este caso, ese sería el precio que costaría reemplazarlo en el OnePlus One, por lo que realizar el mismo proceso en el OnePlus 2 es algo más caro, unos 380 euros en total. Asimismo, puedes leer la lista completa de partes de reparación en este link.
Afortunadamente, otros componentes más comunes como los botones de volumen o de encendido apagado cuestan algo menos. Obviamente, producir, guardar en stock y más tarde enviar estos elementos por separado es mucho más caro que fabricar y vender el artículo final, con todas las piezas en el interior. No obstante, OnePlus enfatiza el hecho de que está vendiendo todas estas piezas a precios altamente competitivos.
Aún así, este tipo de noticias nos recuerdan que pequeños accidentes como dejar caer el móvil al suelo pueden causar dolores de cabeza intensos y duraderos. Por esta razón, es aconsejable hacerse con un funda protectora de manera que en caso de un incidente estemos más seguros.
