No one has ever claimed the Samsung Galaxy S6 gets amazing battery life. In fact, it’s mostly the exact opposite. But according to a rumor from Eldar Murtazin (yes, that Eldar Murtazin), the Galaxy S7 is a huge improvement.
Posting on Twitter, long time mobile industry writer, also known for numerous rumors over the years, Murtazin is claiming to have a pre-release Galaxy S7 in his possession that is getting him through two days of moderate usage. That’s with the display at 75% brightness and with no WiFi. Murtazin has been hit or miss over the years with his rumors, but with screenshots to back him up, there’s good reason to believe this might be accurate.
Of course, how everyone uses their phone will greatly change the kind of battery life they get, but with a rumored 3000mAh battery coming to the Galaxy S7, it’s safe to assume everyone will see at least some sort of positive improvement. Whether or not you’ll really be able to get two days of usage remains to be seen.
A few weeks back, @evleaks stated that the HTC One M10 would be appealing to those who liked the look of the HTC One A9. Today, he’s shared a picture of a device that is expected to be the HTC One M10, which shares quite a few design elements with the One A9.
The first thing that most people will notice is that the HTC logo is not present on the front of the phone. The pictured device sports 2.5D glass that curves into the sides of the phone, meeting a gold-colored aluminum case with a few white antenna slits on the sides and top. There’s only one speaker slit on the front of the phone (sorry, no proper BoomSound), but the speaker slit above the display is a bit beefier than that of the One A9. Below the display is the phone’s fingerprint scanner, which is less wide yet taller than the one used on the A9.
So far, the image suggests that the One M10 will look quite similar to the A9, but we don’t really know if HTC is planning any major design changes for the back.

It’s been a bit of time since HTC officially unveiled the Desire 626, but the company is back with a slightly tweaked version for India.
HTC has officially announced the new Desire 626 for India, with a few improvements and alterations. The first is a new processor, with HTC going with a MediaTek MT6752 octa-core chip clocked at 1.7GHz instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset in earlier 626 versions. On top of that, the new device offers 2GB of RAM instead of 1GB. The updated handset also includes LTE support as well as dual-SIM support.
The new Desire 626 does still offer a 720p 5-inch display, 16GB of built-in storage and support for a microSD card. There’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on the other side. The battery measures in at 2000mAh, and the 626 is running Android 5.1 under HTC’s proprietary Sense UI. It will come in two color options: Blue Lagoon and White Birch. It will retail for INR 14,990 (or about $220), and it should go on sale at select retailers in India in the coming weeks.

Será, finalmente, el 21 de febrero cuando conoceremos de manera oficial los nuevos tope de gama de Samsung: los Galaxy S7 y Galaxy S7 Edge. Sin embargo, mientras esa fecha llega, las filtraciones y rumores han estado a la orden del día, revelando casi la totalidad de las especificaciones técnicas que estos dos terminales tendrán.
El sitio GSM Arena se ha hecho eco de que Eldar Murtazin, uno de los filtradores de información más confiables con el permiso de Evan Blass, ha publicado en su cuenta oficial de Twitter un par de capturas de pantalla que revelan información muy importante. Dichas capturas permiten conocer que el nuevo tope de gama de Samsung sería capaz de brindar dos días de autonomía con tan solo una carga.
Es importante mencionar que esta asombroso tiempo de vida del terminal fue logrado gracias a un patrón de uso promedio, el cual incluye brillo de pantalla al 75% y conexión a la red LTE siempre activa. Teniendo en cuenta estos dos factores, el término “uso promedio” parece significar uso de redes sociales, lo cual es básicamente lo que los usuarios promedio hacen en sus terminales, todo el tiempo.
Evidentemente, los Power Users tendrían un resultado menor en comparación con el usuario promedio. ¿De cuánto sería este resultado? Es impreciso por el momento, pero tomando en cuenta esta información, y especulando un poco, me atrevería a apostar por 16 horas de uso, lo cual es mucho mayor al promedio que podemos encontrar actualmente en el mercado.
