Shares of Baidu, China’s largest search engine, dropped a further 2.56% yesterday following an investigation by the Cyberspace Administration of China, which ruled that the the public is likely to be misled by the search results they find on the website. According to state news agency Xinhua, the CAC ruled that a Baidu search result page “did influence the medical choice” of Wei Zexi, a 21-year-old college student who died in April from an ineffective cancer therapy he discovered via a Baidu-promoted link.
HELP! PopularMMOs reviewed my mod, mod dev banned from comments when trying to inform ppl of bad info!
Hey guys, I'm a mod dev and I really need your help!
PopularMMOs made a 2 part mod review of the mod I've been working on. I'm a professional programmer and have been working on this mod for almost one and a half years, I've put nearly all my free time and a lot of love and attention in to it so I was super excited when the mod finally got noticed. The mod is designed to let people share and re-use their structures and make them generate into any kind of world they like.
Now I love the videos that PopularMMOs made but they left out some really important information and now it looks like I stole most of the stuff in the mod!! This mod features nearly 400 structures that the world generator can spawn in the world. All these structures are publicly available, I downloaded them from minecraft-schematics.com and spent weeks editing them and making them ready for use with the mod. I also took care to copy Author and Description information for every single structure, players can use the console command "/mcw bo3info" when standing on a structure ingame to see the name of the creator as well as a description/personal message from him/her. So all structure creators get credit with this mod!
I actually spent a lot of time creating the best showcase I could for these structures and now people think that I just blatantly stole them. The comments section on the youtube video is full of comments about it and I've tried to tell people about this but they marked my comments as spam and got me banned from commenting via Google+ :((((. So now people are trashing my mod on youtube based on missing information and I can't even respond!
Another problem is that the download link that PopularMMOs posted doesn't work. Up to now I've followed the comments section and replied with a working link to everybody that asked for it, but now I'm banned from commenting and can't post the link anymore!

Pat didn't show it but if you stand on one of these structures in-game and use the "/mcw bo3info" command you will get author and description information for the structure you are standing on. Also, this mod isnt just a bunch of new world types, it's a construction kit that lets you CREATE new world types. These worlds are just basic examples. You can make any structure spawn in any biome and you can add your own structures too! This mod was made so that people can SHARE their structures and get credit for them no matter who uses them in what world. Try the mod and use the "/mcw bo3info" command, you'll see!! Corren malos tiempos para los fabricantes que no son Google. Según ha publicado la FCC en su página web, el organismo regulador está planeando investigar a operadoras y fabricantes sobre la seguridad de Android en los distintos dispositivos móviles.
El comunicado de prensa de la FCC no menciona las operadoras que serán investigadas, pero todo parece indicar que los principales proveedores de servicio telefónico estadounidenses pasarán bajo el microscopio. Tampoco se menciona a qué fabricantes se han dirigido, pero sí se especifica que se ha pedido a ocho marcas que colaboren ofreciendo información a la agencia.
Para quienes no sepan cómo funciona el proceso de envío de las actualizaciones de Android, en primer lugar Google actualiza sus dispositivos. Una vez lo ha hecho envía los parches a los fabricantes y las operadoras, que los envían a sus dispositivos y a sus clientes. En ocasiones, dependiendo del terminal y de la operadora, dichas actualizaciones nunca llegan.
La sombra de Stagefright sigue siendo alargada
En la nota de prensa publicada por la FCC se hace una mención específica a Stagefright y cómo casi mil millones de dispositivos se vieron afectados por este malware. El número asusta bastante, pero lo que más les preocupa es la gran cantidad de tiempo que tomó a los fabricantes y operadoras en preparar las actualizaciones para los dispositivos. Incluso se han dado casos en los que un dispositivo ha recibido el parche días antes de que Google lanzase la actualización de seguridad del siguiente mes.
En la nota de prensa de la FCC podemos leer lo siguiente:
Los consumidores pueden quedar desprotegidos, por largos períodos de tiempo e incluso indefinidamente, por cualquier retraso en parchear vulnerabilidades una vez se descubren. Hasta la fecha, proveedores de sistema operativo, fabricantes y proveedores de servicios móviles han respondido atacando las vulnerabilidades conforme se descubrían. Hay, sin embargo, retrasos significativos en la entrega de parches a dispositivos –y puede que otros dispositivos nunca sean parcheados–.
Esperamos que salga algo bueno de estas peticiones de la FCC, y que en otros países se decida por seguir el mismo modelo. Puede que esto obligue a las operadoras y a los fabricantes a mantener a sus clientes protegidos de forma regular.
