The ZUK Z1 from last year was followed up last month with the ZUK Z2 Pro. If you’ve been wondering where’s the non-Pro, stay calm – it’s coming. Senior vice president of Lenovo Group (ZUK’s parent company) has shared an image of the ZUK Z2 on Weibo disclosing a few design details.
The almost pitch-black render requires some adjustment to actually reveal the phone but once that’s done, we’re given a glimpse of the metal frame and 2.5D front glass. A hardware home button and a Type-C USB port have been borrowed from the Z2 Pro.

Aunque hace poco tiempo que tenemos disponible el último kernel de Linux, Linus Torvalds y su equipo ya trabajan en Linux 4.7, el próximo kernel del equipo. Por el momento sabemos poco sobre Linux 4.7 pero lo poco que sabemos ya es interesante.
Al parecer esta nueva versión tendrá una función nueva de seguridad que ha sido portada de Chrome OS, una función de seguridad llamada LoadPin. Esta nueva versión será interesante para el ámbito de la seguridad, ya que LoadPin evita la carga de módulos y eso repercute en la integridad del kernel.
LoadPin es una función interesante que tendrá Linux 4.7 y que hará que no sólo se carguen los módulos de total confianza en el kernel sino que una vez cargados no se puedan cargar más módulos o simplemente restringir la carga de módulos para que no se “cuelen” módulos nuevos en el sistema. LoadPin viene de Chrome OS pero es una función interesante para muchos, pero sobretodo para el ámbito empresarial que permitirá que el kernel sea más seguro con esta nueva función y también más integro ya que no se permitirá módulos dudosos que añadan código sin sentido.
La actual intención del equipo de Linus es mejorar el kernel y por ello LoadPin es una gran herramienta de seguridad, pero no será la única que el equipo introduzca en Linux 4.7, aunque lamentablemente desconocemos las nuevas herramientas que se integrarán en Linux 4.7.
Personalmente encuentro interesante LoadPin y me pregunto porque el equipo de Kernel no incluyó esta función en el Kernel 4.6 o en anteriores versiones ya que Chrome OS hace tiempo que existe. En cualquier caso está claro que cuantos más proyectos de software libre existan, más beneficios tiene el usuario final ¿no creéis?

El servicio de transmisión en directo anunció el miércoles que pondría en marcha Fast.com, una herramienta para que los clientes estén al tanto de las velocidades de descarga en cualquier parte del mundo.
El servicio es gratuito, seas suscriptor de Netflix o no. Detectará tus conexiones móviles o de banda ancha y ayudará a los clientes a determinar la causa de los problemas con la transmisión en directo.
"Todos queremos que internet sea más rápido y mejor, pero las velocidades de conexión varían mucho y se pueden ver afectadas por la cantidad de usuarios en tu red o por la congestión en la red de tu proveedor de internet", señaló Netflix en un blog.
Netflix insinuó que si los clientes no obtienen la velocidad por la que pagan, deberían hablar con su proveedor de internet.
La información sobre las velocidades de descarga se refiere a varios proveedores de internet. La herramienta está libre de anuncios y se puede acceder a ella desde cualquier teléfono, laptop o televisor inteligente.
La puesta en marcha de Fast.com se dio unas dos semanas después de que Netflix presentara nuevas funciones que permiten que los clientes ajusten la cantidad de datos que usan con las transmisiones en redes de celular.
Fast.com está dirigido a los clientes y es diferente a una herramienta llamada ISP Speed Index, que Netflix usa para vigilar las velocidades de transmisión mensuales promedio.

A couple of weeks after announcing that it has received necessary approvals to sell the device in India, Nextbit has started sending invites for a May 25 event where it will launch the cloud-focused Robin smartphone.
Originally, the India launch was scheduled for April-end, but it got delayed. The device started shipping to Kickstarter backers in the country last week, and starting May 25, it will be available to the general public as well.
