Nintendo’s Weird New Patent Might Have Nothing to Do With The NX

Nintendo’s got a new patent out there, and it’s sort of weird. It’s a horseshoe, basically, with some buttons it to augment an accelerometer, gyrometer, temperature sensor and load sensor. First noticed by NeoGAF user Rosti (via IGN), the natural assumption would be that this has something to do with the company’s upcoming new console, codenamed NX, but I wouldn’t be so sure. That thing is well on its way towards an announcement, and Nintendo has made it clear that it has some other irons in the fire when it comes to fitness and “quality of life” This patent describes the device as a training peripheral, with drawings of exercise showing it might be used. So it’s pretty clear that Nintendo is once again casting its eyes in that direction, though in what manner we can’t be quite sure.

Nikon’s D5500: A Digital SLR Worth Converting To

For the better part of 35 years now, I’ve used mostly Canon cameras for my photography needs. My collection’s included a film-based SLR, several point-and-shoot digital models, and the EOS Rebel XT digital SLR. All have eventually broken, much to my dismay. Especially because in all but one instance, the camera just died after a while. No drops, no spills, no violence, no warning. Just a quick death. When my Rebel busted about three years ago, a camera repair shop adviser told me it was not worth the money to fix. Instead, he suggested I just go out and get a new camera.

The Next ‘Call of Duty’ Title May Have Just Leaked On The Playstation Store

In an utterly shocking development, we’re likely getting a new Call of Duty game next year. We of course all know that Activision will be releasing a new installment of its juggernaut of a shooter in the holiday season, and we’re right at that pre-E3 moment when we usually hear more about whatever’s coming next. A report from Eurogamer indicated that the company was planning to announce a sci-fi iteration of the series sometime this week, building on the work of recent iterations by moving things out into space, and now some new leaks appear to lend credence to the rumor. Take everything with a grain of salt, as usual, but it’s possible we could hear about Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare next week.

Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ya disponible para la Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

Sin duda, Sony es una de las mejores compañías en cuanto a actualizaciones en el panorama tecnológico actual. Quizás no sea de las más rápidas, pero por el simple hecho de traer la última versión de Android a dispositivos como el Xperia Z2, presentado en abril de 2014, se merecen un respeto. Ésto, sumado a la reciente inclusión del Sony Xperia Z3 al programa de Android N Developer Preview, hacen de la japonesa una buena opción si te gusta mantener tu terminal actualizado.

No obstante, en esta ocasión la homenajeada es la Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, la cual ha comenzado a recibir la actualización a la última versión del sistema operativo de Google. Concretamente el número de compilación es el 23.5.A.0.570, y una vez descargado, si pulsas instalar, te proporcionará todas las bondades de Android 6.0.1, las cuales seguramente tenemos más que aprendidas.

La actualización debería estar disponible para las variantes SGP621 y SGP641, ambas LTE, además de SGP611 y SGP612, estas dos últimas siendo los modelos con Wi-Fi. Si bien la actualización debería llegar en los próximos días, que no cunda el pánico si no la recibes. Y es que, si eres muy impaciente y no quieres esperar recibir Android 6.0.1 vía OTA, siempre puedes consultar Xperia Blog, donde aseguran que publicarán el archivo ftf una esté vez disponible.

Allá por noviembre del 2014, cuando fue presentada la Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, el dispositivo gozaba de un set de características espectaculares. Quizás en la actualidad esas especificaciones estén ya un tanto anticuadas, aunque no cabe duda, todavía pueden dar muchísima guerra. Y es que el dispositivo en cuestión es empujado por el Snapdragon 801 a 2,3 GHz acompañado por 3 GB de RAM y 16 GB de almacenamiento.

La pantalla, de 8 pulgadas, goza de una excelente resolución de 1200 x 1920 píxeles, además de una batería de 4.500 mAh. En el apartado fotográfico, la tablet cuenta con una cámara delantera de 2,2 megapíxeles, siendo la trasera de 8. Asimismo, el dispositivo presume de la cualidad distintiva de Sony: resistencia IP68 al al agua y al polvo.

Ahora, Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow debería otorgar una nueva y merecida vida a tan potente tablet de hace unos años, con funciones como Doze, o la mejor gestión del rendimiento del dispositivo.
