US may not get 64GB HTC 10

As you might already know, HTC’s latest flagship – the HTC 10 – comes in 32GB and 64GB storage options. However, if you are in the US, and are planning to buy the 64GB variant when it becomes available, there is some bad news: US may not get the higher memory model.

This was effectively confirmed by HTC’s Senior Global Online Communications Manager Jeff Gordon while replying to a user query on Twitter.

Keep in mind, however, that the HTC 10 supports expandable memory. So, storage should not be a big problem even if you go for the 32GB model. As for the device’s US availability,…

Cómo instalar Brave en Gnu/Linux

Hace unos meses que existe un nuevo navegador web y su desarrollo avanza a grandes pasos. Este navegador se llama Brave y uno de sus creadores es Brendan Eich, el EX-CEO de Mozilla.

Brave utiliza parte de la tecnología de Mozilla pero tiene un propósito muy claro: eliminar la publicidad mala de nuestra navegación web. Con publicidad mala queremos decir que Brave no eliminará toda la publicidad de golpe sino que cambiará los anuncios que nos ofrecerán de tal manera que esté acorde con nuestra navegación y podamos beneficiarnos de ello, pudiendo recibir también una parte de esas ganancias que tanto Brave como la agencia de publicidad tienen por mostrar publicidad web.

Además Brave cuenta con versiones para Mac OS, para Windows, para Android, para iOS y para las principales distribuciones Gnu/Linux lo que hace que tengamos sincronizado todos los datos de nuestra navegación web.

En su web oficial podemos encontrar no sólo su funcionamiento sino además como instalarlo así como los paquetes de instalación. Para sistemas Gnu/Linux contamos con paquetes en formato deb, paquetes en formato rpm y un paquete tar. Este último paquete no es recomendable para usuarios novatos o con nivel medio ya que para su funcionamiento necesita de otros programas como node.js, programas que requieren de una configuración avanzada. Si tenemos una distro que se basa en Debian o en Ubuntu, su instalación es sencilla pues hemos de bajarnos el paquete deb y hacer doble click sobre él o en la terminal utilizar el comando

sudo dpkg -i nombre-paquete.deb

En el caso de utilizar una distribución como Fedora u OpenSUSE o basadas en éstas, hemos de utilizar el paquete rpm y hacer doble click sobre él o bien en la terminal escribir lo siguiente:

rpm -i nombre-paquete.rpm

Una vez que hemos conseguido la instalación encontraremos la entrada de Brave en nuestro menú de sistema o bien escribiendo la palabra “Brave” en la terminal y pulsando enter. Una vez que hemos instalado Brave, si lo que queremos es aprovecharnos de sus pagos por publicidad hemos de registrarnos, pero eso ya es algo diferente que muchos usuarios no querrán hacer ¿o tal vez si?

China, A Powerful Victim, Winning Abduction Spat With Taiwan And Watch For More

Taiwan isn’t just mad this week at its China, an old political rival that had been spared a lot of wrath over the past eight years in the interest of building trust. It’s using diplomatic and legal tools to push Beijing for the release of 45 Taiwanese citizens who were deported from Kenya this month – to China rather than home, hence the outrage. It rang up a hotline Tuesday to accuse China of an international crime, abduction, and has prepared to send a delegation. It also intends to sue three government agencies in Kenya, which worked with China to get the Taiwanese out after they were suspected of telephone fraud. China, Taiwan says, should have consulted it according to a 2011 agreement to team up on crime-busting issues.
