Not too long ago, WhatsApp decided to drop the $1 a year subscription fee. And since WhatsApp has promised to never show ads for the sake of their own users, it only leaves us wondering how the messaging platform is planning to make money.
Well, just around the time that WhatsApp dropped its subscriber fee, it had reported that it had over 900 million subscribers.
Thanks to making the messaging platform free to use, WhatsApp now has passed 1 billion users according to a post that WhatsApp made today.
WhatsApp now joins Facebook and more recently Gmail in the 1 billion+ club. Way to go WhatsApp!

Gracias al tema humanity, se ha logrado conseguir la apariencia de Ubuntu 8.04 en nuestro Elementary OS, algo ideal para los más nostálgicos
Seguro que recuerdas con nostalgia el antiguo Ubuntu 8.04 con su color naranja y su Gnome 2.X. Pues el diseñador Sam Hewitt ha creado el tema humanity para Elementary OS, el cual sirve de homenaje a esta versión de Ubuntu.
Ésta pequeña copia de Ubuntu 8,04 está compuesto por un pack de iconos y por el tema. La verdad que imita bastante bien el diseño de esa versión antigua de Ubuntu, por lo cual es un tema ideal para los más nostálgicos.
En cuanto a Elementary OS, es un sistema operativo basado en las versiones LTS de Ubuntu, creado como un sistema sencillo de usar y con una interfaz agradable a la vista del usuario, con el fin de ser un sistema perfecto para los novatos que vienen de Windows y no están familiarizados con Linux.
El diseño del Elementary OS normal es muy similar al Mac OS X, lo cual le ha granjeado tanto críticas como elogios a partes iguales. Con este tema, han conseguido alejarse de esa estética de Apple y lograr un diseño igual que los Ubuntu clásicos.
La verdad que Ubuntu ha cambiado mucho desde aquellas primeras versiones, siendo el cambio más radical el paso del escritorio Gnome al escritorio Unity. A mucha gente le ha gustado este cambio pero a otros no, por lo cual siempre se agradece la opción de poder volver a los viejos tiempos por un instante.
Para la descarga, tendremos que bajarnos tanto los iconos como el tema, los cuáles los bajaremos de github, bajando el tema desde aquí y los iconos desde aquí. Si no tienes elementary OS, puedes descargarlo desde aquí.
Los iconos se pueden usar en otros sistemas basados en Ubuntu como Linux Mint y en el propio Ubuntu, sin embargo, no va a quedar de la misma manera que en Elementary OS, ya que está diseñado para funcionar en éste sistema.

Alphabet just released its Q4 2015 earnings today which shot the stock prices of both Stock A and Stock C up to about $750-$780. Alphabet is now the most valuable company in the world, surpassing Apple’s position in the ranks.
With Apple’s earning beginning to show plateauing over earnings from the year before, Google stole the show, showing great numbers of growth. Investors are going crazy buying more stock which drove the price up this afternoon.
Alphabet’s Year-over-Year revenues are increasing, which means its growth is actually growing exponentially. Revenues went up 24% from the 12% the year before.
The majority of Google’s revenue is from ads, and while the number of ad clicks have gone up 31%, the cost per click has gone down 13 percent. Don’t be fooled. This means the company still made more money on ads!
During the sales call, the company also announced that it has more than 1 billion active monthly Gmail users. Google now joins Facebook and What’s App who also have more than 1 billion active monthly users worldwide.

The 2016 Consumer Electronics Show again lived up to its hype, providing a glimpse into the future of technology. One technology in particular caught my eye—the Ehang 184, a human-sized AAV (autonomous aerial vehicle). The Ehang 184 was developed by Beijing-based Yi-Hang Creation Science & Technology Company in part because the company’s founder and CEO, Huazhi Hu, an aviation enthusiast, had lost two friends to aviation accidents in recent years. The Ehang 184 is his vision of a safe, autonomous quadcopter drone for human point-to-point flight.
