The offer started yesterday, and runs through February 24. Another point worth mentioning here is that the deal is only valid for purchases made through the Google Store. The $10 credit needs to be applied by May 31, and redeemed by the end of this year.

Aside from Google, third party retailer Best Buy is also currently offering a $10 gift card with each purchase of Chromecast or Chromecast Audio.

Motorola Moto 360 (1st gen) and Sony SmartWatch 3 no longer available from Google Store

February 3, 2016 Leave a comment

The Google Store has stopped selling two smartwatches. These are the first-generation Moto 360 from Motorola and the SmartWatch 3 from Sony. Listings for both wearable devices now clearly say they are “no longer available for purchase.”

The news shouldn’t come as a surprise given that the original Moto 360 watch was launched back in September 2014, while the SmartWatch 3 was released a month later. While Motorola has already launched the second-generation iteration for the Moto 360, Sony hasn’t yet outed a SmartWatch 4.

Those planning to purchase either of the smartwatch aren’t completely out of luck though, given that third-party retailers like Amazon are still selling them.

Galaxy S7 and S7 edge roll through the FCC

February 3, 2016 Leave a comment

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have made an appearance through the FCC. Although the phone will not be announced until February 21, Samsung is getting a head start and preparing the logistics before launch.

The model numbers for the S7 sand S7 edge are SM-G930A and SM-G935A, respectively. While these documents don’t contain images of the alleged devices, they do contain the many variant model numbers for either model of the device.

As usual, the FCC docs also list the various bands, connectivity options, and certifications like Bluetooth, Dual-band Wi-Fi, and NFC.

The S7 and S7 Edge will feature either a 5.2 inch screen or a larger 5.7 inch screen if you opt for the edge display. It’s powered by either an Exynos 8890 or a Snapdragon 820 as suggested.

Apple Music adds the ability to download music to an SD card

February 3, 2016 Leave a comment

Apple’s own streaming service, Apple Music, has picked up another set of features in its latest update, with the leading bullet point giving users the ability to download even more of their music.

The update was released on February 3, and it offers at least three new additions to the service for Android users. The biggest part of the new version is the ability to download music to an SD card on compatible smartphones. As Apple puts it in the official update notes, this gives Android users an option to download even more of their music for offline listening.

The update also includes a full schedule for Beats 1 Radio, so you can keep tabs on which shows you want to listen to. Users can now browse through the My Music collection by Composer and Compilation, too.

Are you using Apple Music, or are you sticking with another streaming service?
