LG Electronics has announced a new agreement that it is going to collaborate with B&O (a high-end electronics designer and manufacturer) to come up with an audio quality-focused experience on a smartphone. The companies have apparently been working together for the Hi-Fi audio features for the highly-anticipated LG G5.
B&O is a company that designs and manufactures high end TVs, entertainment systems, speakers, and audio equipment. B&O Play is the company’s division of higher volume consumer electronics like high-end headphones and portable speakers for audiophiles.

Apple changed its mind about Error 53 being a security feature and allows a phone with a modified Touch ID sensor to function with the Touch ID feature disabled. Disabling phones from restarting, simply because they were repaired at an unapproved shop did not sit well with people. The public backlashed and Apple did what it needed for customers to be happy.
Apple apologized and released a patch to iOS 9.2.1 that will disable the bricking feature that Error 53 was causing. When an unauthorized modification is made to the Touch ID sensor, perhaps when replacing a faulty home button, the iPhone threw an error and would not restart.
Then when plugged into iTunes to recover the software, you were led through the restore process and the phone would never completely restore.
With the new patch, iTunes will allow the device to restore and function normally, the downside is the modified Touch ID will not be active and become useless.
The guys over at iFixIt.org have followed Apple’s official guidelines and were able to successfully follow new prompts to restore iPhones that have a modified Touch ID sensor.

Poco ha tardado Valve en estar a la última, ya que su nueva Beta de SteamOS permite a los jugadores que posean una Nvidia disfrutar de Vulkan, la nueva API gráfica de los creadores de OpenGL.
Hace algunas horas, Valve anunciaba que había salido una nueva Beta de SteamOS, la versión 2.63, la cual destaca por traer los primeros drivers de Nvidia compatibles con la novedosa API Vulkan 1.0.
En el día de ayer, hemos hablado sobre Vulkan, una nueva API gráfica de los creadores de OpenGL diseñada para sustituir al mismo en un futuro cercano, prometiendo un rendimiento gráfico espectacular y una mejor gestión de los recursos del sistema operativo.
Esto es una buena medida por parte de SteamOS, ya que por lo que parece, Vulkan es el futuro de los videojuegos para PC y la gran alternativa al famoso DirectX 12 de Microsoft. Vulkan promete un acceso más rápido a la GPU y a los recursos del sistema, saltándose algunos intermediarios y logrando por lo tanto, un mejor rendimiento.
De momento solo el juego Talos Principle es compatible con Vulkan, juego que por cierto podéis encontrar en Steam tengáis el SO que tengáis, sin embargo, se espera que este número aumente de manera exponencial a medida que vaya pasando el tiempo. Por ejemplo hay rumores de que Street Fighter V cuando salga para Linux será compatible con Vulkan.
Pero antes de que salgan más juegos compatibles con Vulkan, es necesario que los fabricantes de gráficas y creadores de videojuegos se adapten un poco a este nuevo estándar, siendo esta la principal razón de la existencia de esta Beta de SteamOS.
Las otras novedades que traen la Beta son pequeñas actualizaciones de programas importantes como MySQL,Iceweasel,libgcrypt, Kerberos,cURL… los cuales se actualizan para que SteamOS sea un sistema operativo estable y actualizado.
Todavía tendremos que esperar un poco más para que la versión 2.63 pase de ser una versión Beta a ser una versión final estable. Espero que para ese entonces, la lista de juegos que usan Vulkan ya haya aumentado, ya que esta nueva API promete bastante.
