ACER presenta el Liquid Z630S y Liquid Zest en el MWC

Acer está presente en el Mobile World Congress del que nos llegan todo tipo de noticias relacionadas con los smartphones y tablets y donde los pesos pesados están dando todo de si para ser los que más noticias se lleven.

ACER nos presenta dos nuevos smartrphones, el Liquid Z630S con una especial mención en el diseño, memoria RAM y poder de procesamiento, y al Liquid Zest con una pantalla de 5 pulgadas IPS, procesador de cuatro núcleos y una cámara trasera de 8 MP. Dos dispositivos con unos objetivos bien claros y una serie de opciones que pueden adaptarse a las necesidades de los usuarios que tengan al MWC como una cita donde conocer cual será su próximo smartphone.

Un nuevo smartphone que destaca por su especial atención por las líneas curvas y elegantes en la carcasa y unas calidades en el hardware a destacar. Tiene alguna especial funcionalidad con Acer BluelightShield, que permite controlar la exposición de luz azul en la pantalla, y lo que sería DTS Studio Sound, que se convierte de por si en una característica para los que tengan a la música como su predilección.

El Liquid Zest destaca por su pantalla de 5 pulgadas IP con resolución HD, la misma tecnología en pantalla BlueligthShield que el Z630s, su procesador de cuatro núcleos y una cámara trasera de 8MP más una frontal de 5MP. Un smartphone que también destaca por su diseño urbano con cualidades a lo compacto y delgado.

Is Drone Racing The New Superbowl For Brands?

There are a few ways to pique my interest in this cynical and ‘seen-it-all’ world we live in.  One of these ways is to receive more than 30 million hits on your first two events doing something.  The videos in question were an introductory video for drone racing and limited footage from two races.  If you aren’t sure what drone racing is imagine an empty stadium, shopping mall or large space with a series of rings in it that flying drones are piloted through at staggering speed.  There are crashes, collisions and some serious adrenalin involved.  Drone racing now has a league, imaginatively titled ‘Drone Racing League’ or DRL – and has more than $8m in investor funding from some impressive names including RSE Ventures, CAA Ventures, Hearst Ventures, Strauss Zelnick (CEO of Take-Two Interactive Software), Allen Debevoise (founder of Machinima), Grant Gittlin (CXO of Medialink), Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Lux Capital, Courtside Ventures, and Gary Vaynerchuk with Vayner/RSE.

NetApp Earnings: Growth In Maintenance, Services Not Enough To Offset Decline In Product Sales

NetApp announced its Q3 fiscal 2016 earnings on February 17, reporting a massive 11% year-over-year decline in net revenues to $1.39 billion.  Net revenues were slightly lower than the guidance given by management at the end of the previous quarter. Product revenues fell by over 19% on a y-o-y basis to $750 million – a trend consistent across most large storage vendors in recent quarters. On the other hand, maintenance (both software and hardware) and other revenues combined were up by a modest 2% over the previous year quarter to $636 million.

Microsoft seeds a new update for Windows 10 Mobile, tweaks multi-tasking

Microsoft has begun seeding a new update for Windows 10 Mobile. The firmware’s build number is 14267 and it tweaks the multi-tasking performance on mid and high-end Lumia phones.

With this new update, Microsoft has doubled the number of apps Windows 10 Mobile can keep alive in the RAM. The number is now 16, up from 8 apps previously. This will allow high RAM Lumias to switch faster between different apps.

Doubling the app limit won’t drain the battery more unless the apps kept alive aren’t doing additional background activity such as downloading, syncing, navigation, etc.

The multi-tasking on the affordable Lumia smartphones with 1GB RAM or less won’t be affected by this new update.
