The Mystery Of The Vanishing Chinese Neutrinos

Nuclear reactors are best-known as power plants, generating electricity. However, they’re also important physics laboratories, producing exotic atomic nuclei and particles that are useful in other contexts. One byproduct is antineutrinos: the antimatter version of neutrinos, some of the most intriguing and difficult particles to study. For instance, though they are fundamental particles of nature, we don’t even know how massive they are — and mass is one of the most properties anything can have. Yet they’re some of the most numerous particles in the cosmos, and might help us understand why we’re here at all. These little particles are a huge deal, and finding their masses is part of getting answers to some big questions.

OnePlus planea lanzar un producto ‘de lujo’, ¿será una tapa trasera de cuero?

Recientemente y tras una gran cantidad de rumores, la compañía OnePlus por fin ha lanzado su más reciente y flamante terminal, el flagship killer OnePlus 2. En este punto nos encontramos con la incertidumbre de saber cuál será la próxima apuesta al mercado de los smartphones Android. Mientras tanto, vuelven a la carga con los teasers que generan rumorología y que tanto nos gusta especular sobre él.

Lujo y calidad llegarán de la mano de OnePlus

Al igual que otras veces, han publicado en alguno de sus medios una imagen que genera dudas y controversia a partes iguales, incitando al público a especular sobre la misma para descubrir realmente qué se oculta detrás de la imagen, esta vez bastante más claro que otras.

Si analizamos detalladamente la imagen, claramente podemos observar como en la parte inferior aparece un buen pedazo de cuero en color burdeos. ¿Qué significa? Pues sin ir más lejos, posiblemente estén listos para anunciar un nuevo acabado para la tapa trasera del OnePlus 2, que como sabemos, se puede retirar y aplicar de distintos materiales como kevlar, bambú y similares.

El resultado no sería otro que un acabado mucho más premium en la parte trasera, muy similar al que luce el terminal surcoreano de LG, el buque insignia LG G4, una apuesta muy arriesgada y que ha terminado gustando a la mayoría de nosotros, por el simple detalle de innovar y ofrecer algo distinto al clásico plástico o al aluminio, que se está volviendo una tendencia entre los fabricantes, invadiendo incluso la gama media.

¿Precio y lanzamiento? ¿Se sabe algo?

Nada en absoluto, únicamente estamos lanzando especulaciones al aire basándonos totalmente en la imagen. Quizás al final resulta que ni siquiera es una tapa trasera de cuero, pero es bastante probable.

Aún así, si el stock no quiere terminar cogiendo polvo en los almacenes de OnePlus, deberían lanzarlo a un precio de derribo y que realmente sea una alternativa interesante, más aún que una funda protectora.

What’s Better: ‘The Witcher 3’ Or Metal Gear Solid 5?

The past two months have seen two of the most open world remarkable games in recent years: Metal Gear Solid 5, Hideo Kojiima’s absurd swan song, and  The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red’s sprawling medieval fantasy epic. Both these games are true accomplishments, and more than worth your time. Comparing them might seem like a pointless exercise in the abstract, but we’re not living in the abstract. For the gamer that only has enough money/time to commit to one of two of these games: it’s an important decision. Not everyone has 40-50 hours to commit to a big game like one of these, and even fewer have 80-100 hours to commit to both. So we assume for a second that we know you want to play a gruff man exploring a broad open world that dances between fantastical and grounded. So who’s it gonna be: The Witcher 3’s Geralt or Metal Gear Solid 5’s Big Boss?

iOS Dev: Why Apple TV Is ‘Game Over’ For Xbox One And Ps4

Last week, the gaming world had become curious about Apple’s long-awaited next installment Apple TV. There had been rumors that Apple would be taking. The actual announcement was a bit underwhelming: the machine comes with a Wii-style gyroscopic remote, and debuted with a demo of Crossy Road played out on the big screen (albeit with multiplayer, a significant, if not monumental, addition). It’s hard to imagine an immediate threat to Microsoft’s Xbox One and Sony’s PS4 running games like Halo and Uncharted. But I talked to Jeff Smith, CEO of the popular Karaoke app Smule, and a developer who’s been with the iOS platform since the beginning. He says that Xbox One and PS4 fans shouldn’t be too quick to dismiss the Apple TV as a serious gaming contender. The key, he says, is that Apple is just one of the most developer-friendly platforms out there, and that means more content, and, as iOS has shown, more quality content as well.

On April 3, 2014, a Soyuz rocket lifted off from French Guiana carrying Sentinel-1A, an Earth-observing satellite (the first in the ambitious Copernicus program, meant to observe our planet’s environment). Two rocket cams were mounted on the side looking down, and the view they provided was incredible.

Oppo R7 Plus battery life

The Oppo R7 Plus is a 6-inch entrant in the upper segment of the midrange phablet market. Visually (and in concept) very similar to the Huawei Ascend Mate7, the smartphone relies on a high-quality FullHD AMOLED display and a mammoth 4,100mAh battery to make a name for itself.

Capacity is one thing, but transferring milliamp-hours into actual use passes through plenty of variables, and some phones put more obstacles on this path than others.

The Oppo R7 Plus starts off strong with nearly 31 hours in our 3G voice call test. This makes it the third highest ranked phone in our all-time chart, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 LTE obviously can’t pass for a phone. The Mate7 we mentioned above only does 20 hours on the same battery capacity.
We’ve seen batter efficiency in this test though. For example the OnePlus 2 has a 3,300mAh battery and is only a few minutes short of the R7 Plus’ time, as so is the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ with only 3,000mAh.
