Android 5.1 for both 1st and 2nd gen Moto X to roll out next week

The Android 5.1 update for both the first and second-gen Moto X is currently undergoing soak testing in over a dozen markets, and if everything goes fine, full deployments will begin next week, according to Motorola's David Schuster.

These markets include Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, and Sweden for the Moto X (2nd Gen), and Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and United Arab Emirates for the Moto X (1st Gen).

The news comes exactly a week after Schuster said that the Android Lollipop update for the Moto X (2013) will be available in a week.

MetroPCS Lumia 640 said to cost just $39 after instant rebate

The Microsoft Lumia 640 is set to arrive at MetroPCS stores on June 18, and will be officially launched by the prepaid carrier on June 22, according to a leaked internal memo (see image below) which was first accessed by WindowsCentral.

As for the price, although the device carries a tag of $129, the T-Mobile subsidiary is offering a $90 instant rebate, which means that the handset will set you back only $39.

It's worth mentioning that T-Mobile has already launched the Lumia 640 – the carrier is selling it for $129.84 without any agreement, and $5.41 per month on a regular 2-year contract.
