[MOD (No Forge)] Quasi-Connectivity of Pistons, Droppers, Dispensers, possible Removal in future PC version | Please help
As most of you might be already aware, MC PE version will add a BUD block, and the PC tech community is worried this could mean that Quasi-Connectivity (QC) would be removed in the future, which is in the game as a feature since years.
To help Mojang deciding the future of Redstone, please help by coming up with things that are not possible without QC, but also things that are not possible with QC.
To help you with that, Panda4994 coded a mod for 1.9.2 that removes QC towards negative X, but keeps it towards positive X; the world is basically "split" in such 2 different halves.
Panda4994 and Cubehamster will probably stream next week again and show also the things the community came up with, to be able to argument for or against QC, or to try to have both, if possible, and to figure out if and what we would lose in case QC would be removed.
Links for you:
Livestream Video about Quasi-Connectivity and what if it were to be removed
Mod Download to split the world into a part with, and another without QC
World Download for the world we use in the Livestream
If you want to help the discussion, please mod a 1.9.2 MC version (installation/how-to tutorial in a README.txt file in the mod-zip), fiddle with the world provided, and send via links in the video's comments section your contraptions that are only possible WITH or only possible WITHOUT quasi-connectivity.
We will likely stream next week again and have the community's input (contraptions) built up so we can continue to discuss that topic, if a possible QC removal would cause us to lose what we can't replace at all with the current MC version, or what we could even gain with a possible QC removal, or how to create workarounds for some contraptions to make them work again after QC removal.
Droppers and Dispensers are not shown (yet), but I'll make sure to have some QC-affected droppers/dispensers contraptions built up before the next stream, and to make it clear:
Panda included them in the mod, that means you can also do QC-testing with droppers and dispensers, not only with pistons.
Thanks in advance for your help! }=)
In case it's not clear, or if you don't watch the video long enough: (If you use the provided world download:) The side with the brown clay patches is the one without QC, the fully green clay side is with the regular QC, as of the current 1.9.2 release version.
