Survival Friendly Way to Respawn/Farm Shulkers

http://ift.tt/2dSSBmR

The issue with Shulker Shells/Boxes in 1.11 is that on large servers End Cities will be wiped clean of Shulkers. I propose a solution that, I feel, has a vanilla Minecraft vibe to it.

With this command block setup, Endermites can be turned into Shulkers. But shooting an Endermite that is under the effect of a Lingering Potion of Regeneration with a Spectral Arrow it will undergo "metamorphosis" and turn into a Shulker.

I feel that a larva type mob, such as the Endermite, would turn into a chrysalis type mob, such as the Shulker.

I am no genius with command block, so if you have a way to compact what I have made please do so! Just be sure to give credit, of course. :-]

Commands

1 – /testfor @e[type=endermite] {ActiveEffects:[{Id:24b}]}

2 – /testfor @e[type=endermite] {ActiveEffects:[{Id:10b}]}

3 – /execute @e[type=area_effect_cloud] ~ ~ ~ /scoreboard players tag @e[type=endermite,r=3,c=1,tag=!shell] add shell

4 – /execute @e[tag=shell,type=endermite] ~ ~ ~ /summon shulker ~ ~ ~ {Color:10}

5 – /tp @e[tag=shell,type=endermite] ~ -300 ~

Finite Water, why this is a bad idea? (Obviously this is not a suggestion). via /r/Minecraft

Finite Water, why this is a bad idea? (Obviously this is not a suggestion).

I would try to create a constructive discussion,that's it.

Finite water.

I know, It was suggested again and again, ad nauseam, but has always been rejected by Minecraft fans… but why?

Finite water is a realistic concept that would bring new mechanics in the world of Minecraft, such as the construction of dams, aqueducts, secondary channels for rivers, the strangest traps, new farming techniques and "dynamic terrains" (for example a normal cave could be suddenly flooded completely if you mine in the wrong place, players may choose to dry a lake to build in that area, the rain may have a more central role, affecting rivers and their stream power… and (finite water) probably would create many other possibilities).

But what brings you not to accept this idea?

Are you sure that would ruin the game?

Am I sure that Finite Water would not ruin the game? Well… honestly I don't know.

But I think that if it was added with some "considerations" (for example, keeping infinite the sea-water, localizable obiously via biomes, and keeping infinite the rivers source) would unlock, at least, may possibilities in terms of gameplay and construction.

I know that it would not require just 3 or 4 lines of code, and that Mojang should completely change rivers-generation-system and who knows what else. But apart from the technical difficulties, in your opinion as a player, not as a developer/modder, it would be a good or a bad idea?

The Suggestion

Hopefully you enjoy the presentation. All of the models were either made by me, or photoshopped based on existing mobs.
