Why even remove Negative Amplifiers?

Hello!

I just noticed the devs 'fixed' Negative Amplifiers in 1.11 (that's when the Amplifier tag of an effect is between 128 and 255, FYI)

As a CBUser, RPG Lover and Mapmaker, I don't like this.

What If one had to make a potion which, for example:

"Gives you Particle-Free Invisibility and slight speed buff, but increases damage taken"

The "increase damage taken" part is no longer achievable in 1.11, since it would require a Negative Resistance Effect. So is Jump Prevention; extremely high levels of Jump Boost would totally block a player from jumping in 1.9/1.10

Yes, I could just stick with 1.10 and stop complaining, but what when time goes on? Should I miss updates cause my work is limited by such annoyance?

Let's be honest, Negative Amplifiers don't hurt anyone. They never gave anyone problems. Let them be, they are VERY useful to people like me who likes to add a little 'spice' in Vanilla.

What do you think?

TIL: The 4 horsemen will spawn on a mushroom island. via /r/Minecraft

TIL: The 4 horsemen will spawn on a mushroom island.

Leisurely playing survival on a mushroom island base with my son yesterday. With no hostile mobs there you kind of relax and do your thing, first thing I notice my son is in the middle of a dogfight with the 4 horsemen. I join in the fight and we put them down. Unfortunately, in the fog of war we killed 3 of the 4 horses. Now we have one skelly horse with only 6 hearts.

He's had a tough life, so now he gets to spend the rest of his days on the island as our pet. It's kind of funny, I am working around the base and he will come and nudge up once in a while. Then he goes for a swim in a nearby pond. No more tough days for you buddy. 🙂

Hardcore #38– learned a lesson via /r/Minecraft

Hardcore #38– learned a lesson

For the past year I have been playing only in hardcore mode. I started with a seed of 1 and every time I die I up the seed. Seed 28? Easy access to a great mesa biome. Cave Spider got me.

Yesterday I got the furthest I ever did with seed #38. Desert temples EVERYWHERE. On this one I had taken my time and finally got what I feel is the best weapon, Infinity bow with flame. Had decent farms, a villager "mall" where they were protected, etc… But after I visited the Nether, I saw my watch was spinning and decided to take a nap.

[19:26:32] [Server thread/INFO]: ######## has just earned the achievement [We Need to Go Deeper] [19:41:41] [Server thread/INFO]: ######## blew up

Do not sleep in the nether.

Oh well, on to #39! — edit Has a nice little village right near spawn. Aww yiss. 🙂
