While elytra's have kind of made horses obsolete some of us still like riding them around, I thought I would share some useful tips for riding them.

Always bring a few leads with you, they will make it much easier to cross water simply put the horse on the lead and pull it across it will keep up even if you are using depth strider.

Bring a few sets of sheers its the fastest way of breaking leaves while on horseback and is extremely helpful for going through forests.

Punching your horse. When you get off of your horse they will sometimes just wander off they seem to just need to get to a random point and won't stop trying to get there until they do. Punching them (make sure you don't have your sword equipped) will reset their path finding and after they do the little freaked out run around they will just stand around like normal.

When making nether portals for horses always make sure the portal is at least 3×3 with an air space on each side this will stop them from getting pushed into the frame and being suffocated.

How horse breeding works is it takes the stats from the 2 parent horses adds in a random third horse and divides them by 3.
