Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #15: Cliff village

LAST WEEK'S THEME: TREEHOUSE

Gold

TheWingedKuriboh

Loved this build! One of the great things I found about it was that all the sections of the trunk (which were very well done and contained), they were all connected together by pathways etched into the branches of the tree. Overall though, this was just a wonderful build.

Silver

StarTux

Another great build which was a major contender for first place. Now, the tree itself and the buildings on the tree were great however the only thing was that each build on the tree seemed to just be a structure that was plopped onto a spot, which would be good enough but around those structures there was nothing else on the tree. If there would have been paths connecting those builds on the branches, it would have worked a bit better. However, it's still an amazing build! Great job!

Bronze

Rei_00

A weirder take on the challenge, but I still liked it and so did the other judges! The tree itself looked great and with the spaceship added to it, it added a very unique build to this challenge. The interior of the build was also very well done and overall a good build!

Introduction

….

I have no random reference of quote for this challenge, sorry, but I can tell you that it'll be some risky building this week as we climb the cliffs! Minecraft offers many unique and cool types of terrain to build on and one of the most popular is epic cliffs that go up hundreds of blocks and provides crazy ways to make amazing buildings!

That's what this challenge is about. Making use of these cliffs and building villages on the side of these cliffs!

Challenge

Thanks to /u/TehDarga for this idea!!

Easy Mode: Build a village (at least five buildings, any size) on the cliff-faces of amplified, extreme-hill, custom terrain or any other biome which has very big cliffs (Savanna M, jungle M, etc). Should have ways of getting around to each building.

Hard Mode: Everything in Easy Mode, but must have other villages (your choice of how many more) on other cliff-faces with bridges connecting the two (or more). It should also have features of a normal village – farms, blacksmiths, libraries, wells, etc.

Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #14: Treehouse

LAST WEEK'S THEME: RACE TRACK

Gold

Akaed

A simple yet effective build. The designs on the track look great and the course, while small, looks very nice and the stands and buildings around it are also very neat. My only criticism is that in some parts it felt a bit too flat or bare but that was only a very small number of spots.

Silver

StarTux

A very cool build with some cool terrain around the track. It's a great build however this build seems to have gone a bit too big. When you look at it, it seems like the track is too small for the mass of mountains and waterfalls. This is why (after some deliberation) we chose this as second because why it's an awfully good build, the terrain really seemed to dwarf the track here. Good build though! It was close!

Bronze

TrentGgrims

The colour of this track is phenomenal. The ice on the track blends nicely with the blue, red and wood on the outside and the design of the track looks very cool and seems like it would be super fun to play! Around the build however it's pretty bare but the track itself is great!

Introduction

Try and find your inner squirrel because this week we are building a treehouse!! This is personally one of my favourite themes in minecraft–nature, trees, plants–and I'm super excited for this one because while I'm okay at building this style, I know you guys and girls will be even better!!!

Inspiration

Kid's next door treehouse!

Giant tree–Avatar

Docm77's tree from his world tour!

Challenge

Easy mode Build a Giant tree. In the canopy, there must be one room with basic functions (crafting table, chests, brewing stand, etc.)

Hard mode Build a more Giant tree. The tree's trunk must be 30 blocks tall with the canopy being however big you see fitting. (To show the height, please take two screenshots, from the bottom of the trunk and the top to show how high it is). In the canopy, there must be three sections or rooms also with basic functions.

OR instead of a thirty block tall trunk, have multiple trees connected together (any height). There has to be a minimum of 3 trees with one room or section minimum in each

Note: The trunk is the wooden part, the canopy are the leaves.
