Samsung Galaxy S7’s screen is usable when wet, watch our video!

After its departure from an all plastic and hyper-glaze design, Samsung scrapped water-resistance from the Galaxy S6 family. However, this year, Samsung has decided to give immersion-protection a second try with its new Galaxy S7 line.

Sony was among the first companies to introduce an elegant glass and metal design which incorporated water resistance throughout its Xperia line of devices but it was not until the Xperia Z3+ that screens were better able to differentiate touch from water drops.

Samsung was definitely able to stand up to Sony with its beautiful all-glass-and-metal design…

New 9.7-inch iPad Pro comes with underclocked A9X chipset

Yesterday Apple took the wraps off the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and during the announcement it said the tablet sports the same A9X chipset as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro launched last year.

However, in the meantime a pretty big caveat has emerged for this information. See, while the two tablets do share the SoC, the A9X in the smaller 9.7″ model comes with both an underclocked CPU and an underclocked GPU compared to the iPad Pro 12.9.

This is made clear from the quick comparison you can see in the image below, which is now available on Apple’s website. While the company never likes to publish…

First Huawei P9 official pics

The Huawei P9 has been more or less confirmed for an April 6 announcement, quite possibly even multiple versions of it. Meanwhile, it’s often been in the news, posing for some live photos on more than one occasion, most recently in the hands of the company’s president.

Well, time for some official images, finally. But if you thought they’d show something we didn’t already know, think again. The three images of various size and resolution only show close-ups of select details.

NVIDIA’s latest in professional graphics is a 24GB Quadro M6000

Yes, you read that correctly, it has 24GB of video memory and yes, it can run Crysis, but that would be a criminal misuse of resources. The Quadro M6000 is is one of a number of current professional-grade GPU offers from the US titan and it now has a new mid-cycle upgrade, the main aspect of which is doubling the available RAM. This gives the card a neck up compared to AMD’s 12GB FirePro W9100 champion, although it might be short lived, as the latter has a theoretical maximum memory of 32 GB yet to fill up.

This massive bump in memory is truly impressive, but was also expected….

Editorial: Did Apple give up on Force Touch?

Apple has always prided itself with innovation. Among the company’s latest achievements to go under this category is the Force Touch feature introduced with the Apple Watch, and later found its way to the MackBook. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus also sport a similar feat but under the 3D Touch moniker.

We should note that the difference in the names isn’t random and digging through Apple’s patents shows that the two do the same thing, but 3D Touch is more sensitive and reacts immediately, whereas ForceTouch is slightly less capable of measuring touches and presses. It also reacts…
