ZTE has launched two budget-friendly smartphones, dubbed the Maven and Sonata 2, in the United States. While the former is available on AT&T, the latter is up for grabs from its subsidiary Cricket Wireless.
The Maven is powered by a Snapdragon 400 SoC with quad-core 1.2GHz processor, and sports a 4.5-inch 854×480 display. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2100mAh non-removable battery.
It features a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front shooter. The handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
On the other hand, the Sonata 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, and sports a 4-inch 800×480 display. It also comes with 1GB RAM, but has just 4GB of expandable internal memory. Camerawise, the successor to last year's Sonata features a 5MP rear and 2MP front unit. It packs in a 1650mAh battery, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.
As for the price, while the Marvel carries a tag of $59.99 without any agreement, the Sonata 2 will set you back $29.99 with activation.

Sony has launched its newest flagship, the Xperia Z3+, in the Indian market for a hefty Rs. 55,990 ($880). The phone will be available starting June 26 and comes with a QuckCharge 2.0 enabled charger, which Sony claims costs Rs. 3,490 ($55) and a screen protector already applied. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is priced at around Rs. 40,000 ($629) and the LG G4 is Rs. 45000 ($707), which goes to show how overpriced the Z3+ is at launch.

Last week, it was announced that the Android 5.1 update for both the first and second-gen Moto X will begin rolling-out in a week. While the 2013 variant started getting it in select markets late last week, the 2014 version also started receiving it a few days ago.
Now, the update – sized at 440MB – has started rolling out to the Pure Edition of the device in the US. This follows an announcement from Motorola's David Schuster that they have received the approval to start full deployment of the update in the country.

The Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3, which was made official back in March this year and went on sale in Europe the following month, is now available for purchase in the United States.
Amazon is selling the unlocked version of the device for $300. However, keep in mind that the online retailer is selling a variant of the handset that does not support US LTE bands.
If you aren't in the know, the Galaxy Xcover 3 is MIL-STD 810G certified for salt, dust, humidity, rain, vibration, solar radiation, transport and thermal shock resistance. It also comes with IP67 certification, which means the smartphone is dust-tight and can survive in 1m-deep fresh water for half an hour.

Samsung has said that the Galaxy Ace 4 smartphone, which was announced back in June last year and released a couple of months later, will not be getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
The information was revealed by the UK arm of the South Korean company through a tweet (see image above). There was, however, no official word on the reason behind the cancellation of the update.
This comes just a couple of months after UK carrier Three said that Samsung's Galaxy S4 mini won't be getting the Lollipop update due to memory limitations. However, the Ireland arm of the carrier rolled it out shortly…
