Solus 2017.01.01, la primera ISO de Solus desde que es rolling release
Aunque aún no tenemos la nueva versión de Budgie Desktop, los chicos de Solus no han parado durante estas últimas fiestas. Recientemente se ha lanzado una versión ISO del sistema con las últimas novedades de la distribución.
Hace unas semanas que se decidió pasar el formato de actualización de Solus a formato rolling release, lo que hace que no se necesite lanzar versiones cada X meses. Pero siempre hace falta una imagen ISO para realizar instalaciones nuevas en equipos nuevos o reparaciones.
La nueva imagen ISO se llama Solus 2017.01.01 es la primera imagen iso tras estos cambios y en ella se incorpora las últimas novedades de la distribución como el último kernel estable de Linux o las últimas versiones de los escritorios Linux que utilizan. La imagen Solus 2017.01.01 tiene dos versiones, una versión Budgie Desktop y otra versión con MATE.

En el primer caso no cambiamos de versión, pero en el caso de MATE se utiliza MATE 1.16. Ambas versiones manejan las últimas actualizaciones de programas importantes como Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC, MTP o el Centro de Software. Éste último recibe un gran lavado de cara que facilitará el uso e instalación de ciertas aplicaciones a los usuarios más novatos.
Si ya disponéis de Solus, esta imagen no representa nada nuevo ni nada similar, es algo que ya tendréis o solamente se obtiene actualización la distribución mediante la linea de comandos. En caso de no tener la distribución, la imagen ISO la podéis conseguir a través de este enlace. Esta imagen ISO nos servirá para instalar por primera vez la distribución, pero luego hemos de actualizar a través de terminal o a través de la herramienta de actualización de Solus.
Personalmente esperaba la nueva versión de Budgie Desktop, más que una imagen ISO que no corre prisa para los usuarios. En cualquier caso el proyecto sigue vivo y seguramente en pocas semanas tengamos la nueva versión de su popular escritorio ¿ no creéis?
