Ultimate Edition 5.0 ya salió
Por si alguien no la conoce, Ultimate Edition es una distribución basada en Ubuntu y especialmente diseñada para videojuegos, es decir, una alternativa para la distro de Valve, SteamOS. No es la primera vez que hablamos de ella en este blog, pero ahora anunciamos la salida de la versión 5.0. Para los interesados, ya podéis descargarla y probarla, para así poder disfrutar de horas de entretenimiento digital frente a la pantalla.
Ultimate Edition 5.0 incluye numerosas mejoras, versiones renovadas de sus paquetes y también algunos errores corregidos. Por ejemplo, una de las implementaciones más destacables es la nueva versión del entorno de escritorio ligero que la distribución Linux integra como predeterminada. Hablo de Xfce que llega a UE en su versión 4.12. Además también se puede encontrar un sabor con MATE pro defecto para elegir entre ambos entornos de escritorio. Por supuesto la base también ha sido renovada, ahora se basa en Ubuntu 16.04 de Canonical.
El kernel Linux que mueve a este sistema operativo es Linux 4.4, además entre los paquetes que se incluyen, que como está pensada para el mundo del gaming no encontrarás muchos de los paquetes básicos que integran muchas otras distros, están más de 50 juegos para GNU/Linux. Entre todos estos se encuentran videojuegos para todas las edades y de todos los géneros, para satisfacer a todos en casa. Por supuesto podrás instalar muchos más desde Steam o desde cualquier otra fuente…
Entre los juegos que se incluyen está el famoso 0 A.D., Armagetron Advanced, Capitalism, Crack Attack, Defendguin, LBreakout2, Pax Britannica, etc. Si estás interesado en descargar la última ISO puedes hacerlo desde ultimateedition.info. Allí encontrarás información, y distintas versiones de la distro, entre ellas esta Ultimate Edition 5.0 LTS para equipos x86-64 de la que estamos hablando…
