openSUSE Tumbleweed soluciona Dirty Cow con su nueva actualización

Varias distribuciones se están tomando en serio el problema del Dirty Cow, un problema que por un simple bug puede hacer que perdamos la administración de nuestro propio sistema operativo. Este problema afecta a todos los usuarios que tengan el kernel de Linux, no sólo distribuciones para equipos caseros sino también móviles, tablets y servidores.

Estos últimos son importantes pues sobre sus espaldas tienen y manejan negocios de millones de dólares. Y sorprendentemente, sólo tres distribuciones tienen la solución a Dirty Cow, dos de ellas son CentOS y Ubuntu, pero la tercera, OpenSUSE sólo lo ha implementado en su versión rolling release, es decir, openSUSE Tumbleweed.

openSUSE Tumbleweed ha recibido una importante actualización que no sólo soluciona Dirty Cow sino que también añade novedades como la implementación de Plasma 5.8.2 LTS o AppStream 0.10. Dirty Cow lo han solucionado con el kernel de linux 4.8.3, pero el kernel que recibirá openSUSE Tumbleweed es Linux 4.8.4, versión que claramente corrige Dirty Cow y añade otras mejoras.

OpenSUSE siempre se ha decantado por KDE, así en openSUSE Tumbleweed se ha añadido y actualizado Plasma 5.8, en esta ocasión los usuarios tendrán Plasma 5.8.2 LTS. Esta gran actualización también añade mejoras en cuanto a rendimiento y optimización del sistema así como la corrección de bugs, entre ellos uno que había con la zona horaria. Appstream también se actualiza y recibe la versión 0.10.

openSUSE Tumbleweed es la versión rolling release de OpenSUSE, es decir, una versión que poco a poco se actualiza y que no necesita versiones o grandes actualizaciones como Debian o Ubuntu. En este caso, la actualización o bien ya lo han recibido o bien lo harán próximamente. Esto es positivo, pero no hay que olvidar que la versión más estable e importante de OpenSUSE no es rolling release y eso se hace por algo, así que podéis usar openSUSE Tumbleweed como versión de pruebas, pero es arriesgado utilizarlo como distribución para servidor ¿ o tal vez no?

Quick question from a new MC player.

So I have played for a few weeks, and its been hella fun. Cant believe that im that late to the MC party but better late than never right.

So I decided to make one of those mobgrinders in the sky that gives you drops from skellys, spiders, zombies etc and I have 1 problem. It does not spawn anything at all, and if it does spawn something then its like 3 mobs per 5 min.

The Trapdoor Design here is built exactly the same as in this video.

Its far away from any land or spawnable areas. Im staying withing 128 block radius at all times but even when im within 30 block radius, it does not work. The light levels are 0, The F3 function shows 0 entities when looking towards the grinder and overall im very dissappointed now.

Is this grinder outdated, did the AI change? Do I need a special system in place or am I just very unlucky?

‘Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ And ‘The Legend Of Zelda’ Comparison Shots Hint At Timeline Connection

Like many, I cannot wait to play Zelda: Breath of the Wild, not least to figure out where the game fits within the series’ overall narrative. From what we’ve seen thus far, it appears that the game is set at latter end of the Fallen Hero timeline. However, Nintendo has revealed some interesting comparison shots that hint further of a connection to that timeline.
