How did you guys discover Minecraft?

I'll go first: right after 1.8 Beta was released, I started watching a bunch of YouTube videos about Herobrine/Endermen/creepy stuff. It got me interested enough to buy the game(first game I ever actually purchased myself!) and start playing.

After all those videos, I was very stupid about the game, and flipped out seeing a Zombie from afar, thinking it was Herobrine.

openSUSE Tumbleweed ha sido la primera distribución en ofrecer Gnome 3.22

Esta semana hemos visto como se liberaba el famoso escritorio Gnome 3.22, una versión que ha suscitado el interés de muchos así como una gran polémica entre los jefes de proyectos que quieren implementar Gnome 3.22 en su próxima versión.

Al parecer la guerra o pugna por tener tal titulo ha sido de OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, un sabor o variante oficial de OpenSUSE que se caracteriza por ser una distribución rolling release, una versión que en tan sólo 48 horas ha implementado Gnome 3.22 entre sus usuarios.

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed no ha sido la única distribución en la práctica en tener Gnome 3.22

La versión oficial de OpenSUSE ha sido la primera en implementar la nueva versión de escritorio de Gnome, pero no es lo único nuevo que incluye la distribución, siendo también actualizado el kernel de Linux a 4.7.4 y la versión de Plasma que la distribución contiene, implementando también la versión beta de Plasma 5.8 así como la última versión estable de Plasma.

OpenSUSE Tumbleweed es la primera distribución que ha obtenido de manera oficial Gnome 3.22 pero no es la única. Casi al mismo tiempo que OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, Debian Sid también incorporaba esta versión de Gnome así como próximamente lo hará ( sino lo tiene ya) la distribución Antergos. En cualquier caso, parece que Gnome 3.22 pone en relieve del debate sobre si distribución rolling release o desarrollo tradicional. Un debate que muchos intentan abrir en sus respectivos proyectos y que ha tenido su polémica, basta con recordar el problema que existió entre las filas de Ubuntu y que finalmente se decantaron por el desarrollo tradicional.

La solución de OpenSUSE a este debate fue más salomónica, es decir, crear una versión que sea rolling release, pero ¿hasta que punto beneficia esto a los proyectos? ¿vosotros ya tenéis Gnome 3.22 en vuestra distribución? ¿habéis probado alguna distribución rolling release? ¿qué os pareció?

One of my favorite smartphone developments of 2016 is that the leading phonemakers in the world, after experiencing with tacky and garish colors for a few years, have realized that, for gadgets, going all-black is still the best. Even though I was never a fan of Samsung’s mobile aesthetics and I think the iPhone 6 Plus’ top and bottom bezels were hideously large, I still felt a sense of awe when I first unboxed the Galaxy Note 7 and iPhone 7 Plus — because both devices felt and looked so sleek and sexy. Women always say black has a slimming effect, and it’s definitely true here.
