All these companies have different motivations for acquiring Twitter, but Disney may have the most potential synergies with the social/news platform considering the latter’s successful start to its live streaming feature with Thursday Night Football. KDE nos presenta su Consejo Asesor para la difusión de su proyecto

Hace muy poco que el proyecto KDE cumplió años, una celebración bastante sonada que ha tenido como fruto de ello varias novedades como un libro sobre la historia del software o el nuevo Consejo Asesor de KDE. Este consejo ha sido presentado hoy y está compuesto por miembros que siempre han apoyado y publicitado el proyecto KDE. Estos miembros han sido presentado hoy y algunos son conocidos como SUSE o Canonical y otros no tan conocidos como April o Blue Systems. En cualquier caso su papel será fundamental durante los próximos años.

El Consejo Asesor contará con la ayuda de Canonical y J. Riddell

El Consejo Asesor de KDE tendrá como fin oficializar las relaciones con diversos proyectos y entidades ajenos a KDE, pero también intentará mejorar las relaciones entre los miembros de su Consejo, favoreciendo la difusión de los proyectos así como también ayudando a estos a desarrollarse. En el caso de Canonical o SUSE no es necesaria la ayuda, pero otros proyectos y socios si que necesitarán su ayuda.

Por el momento los socios o miembros que componen este Consejo Asesor son:

  • SUSE
  • Canonical
  • Blue Systems
  • FOSS Nigeria
  • FSF Europa
  • The Document Foundation
  • Free Software Foundation

En este punto cabe reseñar que a través de FOSS Nigeria, J. Riddell compartirá mesa con los chicos de Canonical, con los cuales no hay muy buena relación. Así pues parece que el Consejo Asesor de KDE tiene un difícil cometido por delante pero no estará exento de noticias y polémicas o al menos eso parece.

En cualquier caso, creo que esta idea es muy interesante y que todos los grandes proyectos deberían de tener algo similar, al menos para mejorar su relación con otros proyectos o empresas, algo que hace 20 años no era tan habitual y que ahora parece que no sólo es habitual sino que es el futuro de mucho del Software Libre que existe para Gnu/Linux. Desde luego espero que el Consejo Asesor de KDE saque adelante sus objetivos y sea un referente, pero ¿ se salvará de la polémica?
