Hoy estamos encantados de anunciar la disponibilidad de la primera versión estable de Apricity OS, concretamente la versión 07.2016 la cual ya está disponible para su descarga e instalación.
Apricity OS es un sistema operativo derivado de Arch Linux y como tal, tiene el sistema de actualizaciones Rolling Release. Este sistema de actualizaciones saca pequeñas actualizaciones cada cierto tiempo(por ejemplo cada mes), las cuales al ser pequeñas no te obligan a formatear el PC para tenerlo actualizado. De esta manera, vamos a poder tener el ordenador a la última sin demasiado esfuerzo.
Esta distribución destaca por ser una distribución bastante elegante,ya que tiene un diseño que es literalmente impecable al ojo humano. Los escritorios que se encargan de hacer funcionar su interfaz gráfica son a elegir entre Gnome 3,20 y Cinnamon 3.0.7. En cuanto al kernel, tenemos el kernel linux 4.6.4 como kernel del sistema.
En cuanto a los programas, Apricity OS combina los repositorios de Arch Linux para el software principal, con un repositorio propio para otro tipo de paquetes. Entre los paquetes más importantes dentro del repositorio propio tenemos paquetes de iconos y fondos, paquetes de copia de seguridad y un Google Chrome modificado con ciertos complementos entre otros.
El encargado de realizar la mayoría de instalaciones de software es el software Calamares, un software que te permite realizar la instalación de forma gráfica, sin tener que andar metiendo comandos ni utilizando la consola.
Sin duda un sistema operativo simple pero eficaz, capaz de ejecutar la mayoría de aplicaciones del mercado sin perder la elegancia. Realmente recuerda a la distribución española Antergos, una distribución basada en Arch Linux con características similares a Apricity OS.
Para descargar la última versión estable de este sistema operativo, lo haremos desde su página oficial, en la cual podremos escoger entre la versión de Gnome y entre la versión de Cinnamon, además de versiones especiales para desarrolladores.
