The Newsfeed Is Broken; We Need An Uber Score For Sharing Good Content
Content is having a hard time with algorithms, ad budgets and platforms changing the rules on it. Are we all missing a trick though? Shouldn’t content – rather than being ignored – be actively judged to alert the creator rather than being ignored and helping no-one?

‘The Principle’ Is What Happens When Good Science Gets Twisted
A controversial movie, The Principle, is now available on iTunes and Amazon. The movie—written and produced by Rick DeLano—is a polished pseudo-science attack on the generally accepted model of cosmology. Activision Blizzard Gears Up For A Promising Future
Buoyed by the burgeoning popularity of “Call of Duty“, the tremendous response to “Overwatch” and the continued strength of King Entertainment’s “Candy Crush“, Activision Blizzard was able to beat estimates with its Q2 results. The company’s revenues more than doubled year over year to $1.61 billion, primarily due to the acquisition of King Digital and the strong response to the competitive game “Overwatch“. Since the launch of the so called futuristic first person shooter game on May 24 2016, it has garnered a staggering 15 million players globally. Along with continued strength across the portfolio, this helped Activision record its biggest quarterly online player community of 33 million monthly active users (MAUs). Overall, the company recorded 491 million MAUs.

Augmented Reality Can Be The Next Growth Driver For Baidu
As its search business reels under pressure from new regulations, impacting revenues negatively, Baidu is working to take the user experience of its mobile apps to the next level of delight. The company recently unveiled an AR (augmented reality) platform called DuSee that will allow China’s mobile users to test smartphone augmented reality on their existing devices. The company also plans to integrate this technology directly into its flagship apps, including the Mobile Baidu Search app and Baidu maps. As per our estimates, “Search Services” accounts for nearly 75% of Baidu’s valuation. And while Baidu has a significant share in the Chinese search engine market, AR technology to improve user experience significantly and make it more immersive can ensure that this share is retained and grows over the long term.
