VC funding for these companies jumped 78% percent last year, to $228 million, according to a new study just out. The trend should continue, with more than $400 in funding expected in 2016.

With Microsoft’s epic mishandling of Nokia’s mobile business coming to an end today, a new chapter for the storied Finnish brand is about to begin. Nokia has just announced that it will license its brand and intellectual property to a newly created company called HMD global, which will work to produce and sell a portfolio of Android smartphones and tablets.

Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 now available in the UK

The Huawei MediaPad M2 10.0 is available for purchase in the UK starting today. So far Currys has exclusivity on the tablet, and only the Standard edition is available, listed at £249.99.

Standard in this case means 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, while the Premium edition has an extra gig of RAM and four times the storage, plus support for the M-Pen stylus. This one will have a retail price of £329.99, but is nowhere to be found on the retailer’s website.

Both versions come with a 10.1-inch IPS display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, Kirin 930 chipset with an octa-core…
