Help my 8 year old please

So my 8 year old loves Minecraft, she plays on my PS4 and has been playing for a couple of months now (weekends only).

Anyway so far she has built a house + Small farm with Wheat/Carrots and Sheep/Pigs. She found a cave and got some iron ore too. Thing is I need some sort of checklist of what she should do next? she wants to get diamonds and make a portal?

Is there some sort of checklist that she can work through, she keeps going to sleep as soon as it is dark as she is scared of the monsters so she asked me to help to make a trap.

What should I encourage her to do next?
