Is This The Year That ‘Battlefield’ Beats ‘Call of Duty?’

Two companies announced two shooters last week. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare looked to the future, continuing a trend of pushing the franchise further and further into a world of science fiction informed by the franchise’s own militaristic worldview. Battlefield 1 went the opposite way, eschewing the fantastical elements of its competitors and rewinding all the way back to WW1, where the most effective weapon amongst terrifying new war machines was sometimes the perfectly brutal entrenching tool.

Second Batch of Minecon tickets gone!

I've tried all the tips from yesterday (staying on the page and refreshing like mad for a while), but no ticket. I was fast enough to select quantity and press checkout too. With my luck, Minecon will never be this close to me again. Salty as fuck now, have fun for those of you who were lucky enough to nab one.

First time playing, I’d like to play survivor with a friend

I just downloaded this game on PC and I am trying to play survival mode with my girlfriend who lives in a different state. I downloaded server 1.9.2 from http://ift.tt/1rD4cHV and I got a server running, but I have no idea how to configure it for survival mode!

Anyone able to help me out? Point to a tutorial? Everything I can find seems to be outdated!

NVIDIA announces GTX 1080 and GTX 1070, Pascal based graphics cards

NVIDIA has taken the wraps off its next generation flagship graphics cards, the GTX 1080 and the cheaper GTX 1070.

The main attraction here is that both the cards are based on NVIDIA’s new Pascal architecture and manufactured using 16nm FinFET process, which makes it more efficient, 3x compared to the previous Maxwell architecture, and also smaller, while packing in 7.2 billion transistors.

The GTX 1080 comes with 2560 CUDA cores, up from 2048 on the 980. It is clocked at 1607MHz, with a boost clock of 1733MHz. The card is also overclockable with the new GPU Boost 3.0.
