Altice’s French Media Move — Is Content Or Cash King?

The French unit of Altice, SFR-Numericable, this week announced that it planned to become “France’s leading content generator” by integrating several activities that were already part of the larger group, and launching some new platforms. SFR called this a global convergence of telecom, media content and advertising. The strategy for content consolidation over platforms is not wrong, but building content packages to keep and grow subscribers to your platform might not be the best approach.

These U.S. States Have The Fastest Internet Speeds [Infographic]

Even though the United States has over 100 million broadband subscriptions, it lags behind other developed nations in terms of internet speed. In the last quarter of 2015, connection speed averaged 14.2 megabytes per second (mbps) for U.S. internet users, considerably slower than in South Korea or Japan where it averaged 26.7 and 17.4 mbps respectively, according to Akamai.
