HTC went out and threw a curve ball by launching a smartphone no one was expecting. A couple of weeks after we were treated to the proper flagship HTC 10, we now have the One S9.
A unit less than the current top-end number, the new smartphone also gets to keep the One moniker, joining the One M9, A9, E9, X9, with a plus here and there and a Supreme Camera on top.

Apple is about to post its first quarterly revenue decline since 2003
After a dozen years of dramatic growth — led first by the iPod and Mac, and then the iPhone and iPad — Apple is expected to report that March quarter sales declined 10 percent year over year to around $52 billion.
Several rumors have been surfacing about the next iPhone — which is expected to be called iPhone 7 — such as a dual-lens camera on the larger version, the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack, the addition of a second speaker at the bottom of the devices, waterproof and dust-proof ratings and a Smart Connector. Back in October 2015, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray told Barron’s that the home button on the iPhone could be eliminated in favor of a digital button controlled by 3D Touch. And now, a new report from supply chain sources in China told DigiTimes that the iPhone 7 devices will have a touch-sensitive digital button instead of the traditional physical button separated from the display, making the front of the device completely flush.
Equipped with a Snapdragon mobile chip, Hover Camera can follow people around autonomously and its propellers are fully enclosed, so they can’t injure anybody.

Aunque casi todos los ojos están puestos en el nuevo tope de gama, el HTC 10, la firma taiwanesa no se olvida de su gama media-premium de terminales, actualmente encabezada por el gran olvidado, el HTC A9.
Pues en el día de hoy, tal como hemos podido ver en la web oficial de HTC en Alemania, un nuevo terminal denominado One S9. Un dispositivo fabricado con unos materiales de construcción premium, como la marca nos tiene ya acostumbrados en casi todos sus terminales, además de unas características más que decentes para un terminal de esta gama.
Características suficientes a un precio discutible
Si nos fijamos en su diseño, nos recordará bastante al del anterior buque insignia de la marca, el HTC One M9, pues su parte trasera es prácticamente calcada, y no es hasta que lo vemos de frente cuando vemos ciertas novedades, aunque en su interior, poco o nada tiene que ver un terminal con otro. De este nuevo terminal de HTC, nos sorprende la inclusión del procesador Helio X10 fabricado por MediaTek, un chip que en su momento resultaba potente y bien optimizado, pero que habrá que ver si es suficiente, teniendo en cuenta la existencia del Helio X20, el cual ofrece un mayor rendimiento. Eso sí, teniendo en cuenta la optimización del software de HTC, no cabe duda que tanto el rendimiento en el día a día como la autonomía serán más que razonables en este One S9.
Por otra parte, vemos que HTC sigue sin aprender la lección, pues el precio de este dispositivo se encuentra muy por encima de sus rivales más directos, colocándose en los casi 500 euros en el mercado alemán, que suponemos no habrá demasiada diferencia cuando llegue al resto de mercados.
Aunque se sabe que el terminal desembarcará en el mercado alemán a mediados del próximo mes de mayo en sus variantes de color, como lo son el dorado, plateado y negro, se desconoce aún cuándo llegará al resto de países y mercados, aunque suponemos que no debería pasar demasiado tiempo hasta poder tener este nuevo HTC One S9 en nuestras manos.
