‘No Man’s Sky’ Finally Has A Release Date, And A Price
It feels like No Man’s Sky has been being hyped for as long as I can remember. The procedurally generated space sim made a splash at the 2013 VGX awards, and has been a press conference mainstay ever since, in addition to media appearances, plenty of coverage, and that elusive to define but easy to recognize quality we might call buzz. Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) and J5 (2016) will have laser autofocus according to Chinese certification
Chinese regulatory authority TENAA has sure had a busy day today. Having already released its certifications for the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus as well as the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro, TENAA is now gracing us with the full details of the upcoming Galaxy J5 (2016) and Galaxy J7 (2016).
The successors to the original J5 and J7 from last year are due for a release soon. In the meantime they’ve kept on leaking, and now they’ve been put through the paces of TENAA, which has revealed that they could be sporting metal frames.
The Galaxy J5 (2016) can be seen above. It’s got a 5.2-inch 720p Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and laser autofocus, a 5 MP selfie snapper, a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and 4G on board. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Its dimensions are 145.7 x 72.3 x 7.9 mm, and it weighs 155.4g. It will be offered in white, gold, and pink gold. This particular model, the SM-J5108, is headed to China Mobile.
TENAA has certified not one but two iterations of the Galaxy J7 (2016), the SM-J7108 for China Mobile and the SM-J7109 for China Telecom. You can see the former above this paragraph and the latter underneath.
They share most of the specs as you’d expect, with one difference being in the processor’s clock speed. Whereas the J7108 has a 1.6 GHz octa-core CPU, the J7109 has to make do with a 1.5 GHz octa-core chip. This may mean they’re actually employing different SoCs, but there’s no way of knowing for sure right now.
Otherwise they’re the same, each featuring a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and laser autofocus, a 5 MP selfie shooter, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The J7108 will be available in gold and white, while the J7109 will be offered in black and gold. Their measurements are almost identical, but not quite so. The J7108’s dimensions are 151.7 x 75.9 x 7.6 mm, and it weighs 165g. On the other hand, the J7109 measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.6 mm, and it weighs 166g.

La versión básica del Xiaomi Mi 5 tiene un procesador limitado de fábrica
El Xiaomi Mi 5 ya está entre nosotros. Pudimos probarlo durante el último MWC, y las sensaciones que nos dejó fueron muy buenas. La empresa china ideó tres variantes distintas: una básica de 3 GB de RAM y 32 GB de almacenamiento, una intermedia de 3 GB de RAM con 64 GB de memoria interna y una edición especial con tapa trasera de cerámica, 4 GB de RAM y 128 GB de almacenamiento.
Tal y como ya se adelantó durante la fase de filtraciones, el Xiaomi Mi 5 incorpora el Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. Este procesador dejó muy buenas impresiones antes de su presentación oficial, y viene a redimir a la empresa californiana de la mala recepcion de su anterior Snapdragon 810. Sin embargo, y según hemos sabido gracias a Gizmochina, la versión básica no sería tan potente como cabría esperar.
Un Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 limitado
Antes de continuar, vale la pena señalar que la variante intermedia y la edición especial del Xiaomi Mi 5 cuentan con procesadores que pueden llegar a una frecuencia máxima de 2,15 GHz. La versión básica, sin embargo, sólo llegaría a 1,8 GHz.
Esta versión ha pasado por los tests de AnTuTu y GeekBench, dando marcadores de 110.000 y 1.901 respectivamente. En las pruebas del procesador, el dispositivo dió un total de 4.707 puntos. Esto está muy bien teniendo en cuenta el precio del dispositivo, pero supone un descenso del 20% con respecto a la potencia del procesador. Esto no sería un problema para usuarios medios, pero para los gamers que tengan pensado adquirir uno esto puede ser un problema.
Por otra parte y como era de esperar, el Xiaomi Mi 5 ha sido un éxito en china una semana después de su presentación. En su primera flash sale ya se han vendido 17 millones de unidades, agotándose la primera remesa en cuestión de minutos. El fabricante asiático había redoblado los esfuerzos para tener una buena cantidad de suministros, pero parece ser que una vez más las expectativas de los usuarios han podido con la previsión de la empresa.

LG Cam Plus Grip, así funciona el módulo para la cámara del LG G5
Ya os hemos enseñado cómo cambiar los diferentes módulos del LG G5, además del potente módulo de audio LG Hi-Fi Plus with B&O Play. Ahora le toca el turno al LG Cam Plus Grip, un módulo que potencia la cámara del LG G5.
LG quiere apostar muy fuerte por su nueva familia de módulos, o LG Friends, Y con el módulo LG Cam Plus Grip consigue dos objetivos: convertir el LG G5 en una cámara de fotos digital tradicional, con botones para controlar diferentes funciones, y aumentar su autonomía para poder estar más tiempo realizando fotografías.

El LG Cam Plus Grip tiene unas dimensiones de 73.9 x 61.1 x 15.9 mm lo que, alargar el tamaño sí que triplica el grosor de la parte inferior del dispositivo. Aunque es la intención de LG, ya que aumenta de forma notable la sujeción del dispositivo, permitiendo tener una mejor estabilidad a la hora de realizar fotografías.
Su material de construcción además mejora la adherencia del LG Cam Grip Plus en la mano y su reducido peso, 24.5 gramos, apenas se nota al cogerlo. La sensación es muy agradable en la mano y el hecho de poder coger el teléfono con una sola mano, sin necesidad de utilizar la mano izquierda para equilibrar, facilita mucho la captura de fotografías y vídeos.
Para conectar el LG Cam Plus Grip tan solo hay que retirar la tapa para abrir la abertura e introducir el gadget en los conectores. Una vez realizado, el LG G5 detecta el nuevo módulo a través de la app LG Friends Manager y lo sincroniza mediante tres sencillos pasos.
Como habréis podido ver en el vídeo, el LG Cam Plus Grip cuenta con una serie de botones físicos con las siguientes funciones: disparador de foto, modo para grabar vídeo, rueda de zoom, encendido / apagado y un indicador LED para avisos.
Al acoplar el LG Cam Plus Grip, perdemos los puertos situado en la parte inferior, aunque no hay problema ya que el módulo LG Friends del fabricante coreano integra el puerto de carga USB Tipo C, micro y altavoz.
Por último, destacar que el LG Cam Plus Grip también incorpora 1.200 mAh de batería que, añadidos a los 2.800 mAh que trae el LG G5 de serie, suma unos más que interesantes 4.000 mAh para que, de esta manera, puedas exprimir al máximo la cámara del G5 sin preocuparte por la autonomía del terminal.
En definitiva uno de los módulos, o LG Friends, más interesantes y que se convertirá en un elemento imprescindible en vuestro LG G5.

Micromax’s share of Indian smartphone market plummets, CEO resigns
Micromax, which is the number two smartphone player in India, saw a massive erosion of its market share in Q4, 2015. According to market research firm Canalys (which tracks phone shipments in the country), the company’s share plummeted to 13.2% last quarter from 21.7% the quarter prior.
On the other hand Samsung, which sits at the top, further consolidated its position – its share of the market increased from 22% to 26.1% last quarter. The third spot was claimed by China’s Lenovo with 11% market share.
Meanwhile, in a related development, Micromax’s CEO Vineet Taneja has resigned. He was on the job for the past two years.
