En el modo multi-ventana de Android N se puede arrastrar texto

Hemos pasado el día en el que tuvimos la gran llegada del previo para desarrolladores de Android N. Una nueva versión de Android que se adelanta en las fechas previstas y que la tendremos en su versión final para verano, por lo que esperamos que no tarden mucho en llegar desde los fabricantes para tener los teléfonos bien actualizados.

Entre todas esas novedades que han llegado, que redefinen y pulen Android para que sea un mejor sistema operativo para dispositivos móviles, la multi-ventana es una de las más llamativas. En la multi-ventana tenemos una gran característica que ha sido compartida por un usuario desde su Google+ y es la capacidad que se tiene para arrastrar una línea de texto desde un documento para soltarla a la ventana de conversación en Hangouts.

Esta pequeña novedad nos pone ante una interfaz más intuitiva y simple que abre el paso a más novedades para próximas versiones. Google seguramente que nos va a sorprender con detalles como este que eleven la calidad de Android a cotas insospechadas anteriormente.

La característica de arrastrar se puede ver perfectamente en el vídeo cuando el usuario toma un emoticón de texto y lo arrastra tal cual a la ventana de conversación en Hangouts como si se manejara un archivo entre ventanas en un PC.

Android N apuesta por un mejor doze, la multi-ventana, modo nocturno, novedades en la interfaz en los ajustes y lo que son los ajustes rápidos en la barra de notificaciones. También se desmarca de las fechas estipuladas para que podamos decir el año que viene por estas fechas que Android N es la versión más utilizada y se sale esos dos años que ha necesitado Lollipop.

New Waze for Android update brings smart reminders, reduces battery consumption

The Android client of the Google-owned navigation app Waze has received a new update that bumps the version to 4.0 and brings along some new features like smart reminders, as well as various improvements.

The updated app now gives you traffic- as well as drive times-based (in short: smart) reminders to leave on time for your Calendar events. The update also includes new ETA panel which is aimed at organizing everything you need in one place. “View reports, check alternate routes, add a stop on the way, or instantly send ETA to friends and family,” the change-log says.

In addition, the app now requires fewer taps for things like starting a drive as well as sending locations and directions. And finally, Google claims that the update reduces the app’s battery consumption significantly.

MIUI 7.2 starts hitting second batch of Xiaomi devices

Last week, Xiaomi announced the roll-out of version 7.2 of its MIUI ROM, revealing that the update will hit devices in batches. The first batch that got the update included the Mi 5, Mi 4S, Mi Note Pro, Mi 4c, Mi Pad 1, Redmi Note 4G (Single SIM), and Redmi 1S.

The good news is that the update has started hitting the second batch of devices, too. These should include the Mi Note, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 2/2S, Mi Pad 2, Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 4G (Dual SIM), Redmi Note 3G, Redmi 2A, and Redmi 2.

If your device falls in the second batch, you’ll soon received an OTA notification, if not already. Alternatively, those feeling impatient can also download the update package from official MIUI website (head to the MIUI link below).

Se filtran más imágenes del HTC 10

Hoy tenemos una gran serie de imágenes del HTC 10, tanto aquellas de prensa como esas reales que nos ponen ante el terminal tal cual será lanzado en el mes de abril. Una de las grandes apuestas del fabricante taiwanés en estos años y de la que se espera todo para poder unirse a esas buenas sensaciones que ha ofrecido el dispositivo de realidad virtual HTC Vive.

Las fotos reales enseñan el frontal y la trasera de lo que parece ser el HTC 10. El dispositivo parece de mayores dimensiones que las anteriores imágenes filtradas, y se puede distinguir un lector e huella dactilar, las teclas para la navegación, cámara trasera de una lente y esas esquinas curvas que siguen las tendencias seguidas por otros fabricantes.

Mientras que estas imágenes tampoco nos revelan mucho sobre el nuevo HTC 10, sí que lo muestran tal como es sin medias tintas. El teléfono tiene muy buena pinta con un diseño claro y conciso, cuerpo en metal y esas esquinas que nos ponen ante lo curvo como gran tendencia ahora mismo en los smartphones.

Lo que no sabemos de momento es cómo se comporta este teléfono en términos de rendimiento y potencial, aunque con que todo funcione como espere y tenga una buena implementación de Android 6.0 Marshmallow, seguramente que no defraudará a nadie.

La otra filtración llega desde @evleaks que nos muestra las imágenes de prensa del teléfono en cuatro colores. Las especificaciones rumoreadas son estas:

  • 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n (2.4 y 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 y GPS con GLONASS, USB tipo-C

Se espera que sea anunciado el 19 de abril.

Q Motion is Fossil’s first wearable that tracks sleep

Watch and accessories company Fossil has updated its Q series of wearables with a new device. Dubbed Q Motion, the wearable is basically a cylindrical shaped tracker that not only tracks user’s activity, but sleep, too – making it the first wearable fitness device from Fossil to do so.

Being an activity tracker, the Q Motion obviously tracks your movements. In addition, it also vibrates whenever user receives smartphone notifications – the device is capable of filtering notifications through its companion app installed on the user’s phone.

The wearable also includes a “smart tap” feature that, as the name suggests, lets you tap on the device a set number of times to initiate actions like playing music on your phone, finding your phone, and taking a selfie.

The Q Motion will be on display at SXSW next week. It will go on sale sometime this summer carrying a $95 price…

Samsung Z1 successor reportedly in the works

Samsung has outed a couple of Tizen-powered phones until now: the modestly-specced Z1 and a comparatively more powerful (although still entry-level) Z3. While the former was launched back in January last year, the latter arrived in October. Now, there are reports that a successor to the Z1 is in the works.

The Z1(2016) is said to carry a model number of SM-Z150, and feature an AMOLED display like the Z3. Aside from this, nothing else is currently known about the handset, including when it’s going to be available and what price tag it will carry.

The report comes just a few weeks after an SM-Z510 – which is alleged to be the Samsung Z5 – was spotted listed on Zauba. Assuming that the Z1(2016) and the alleged Z5 are different phones, the latter could well be the successor to the Samsung…
