Contracts used to be the go-to option for the majority of folks getting their hands on a new smartphone, but installment plans are slowly starting to take over. Now even OnePlus is getting in on the fun through purchases made from its U.S. online store.
For any purchase that’s over $99, OnePlus will offer a variety of different installment plan options for customers, allowing them to split up the cost of a device in different ways, hopefully making it an even more feasible option to buy a OnePlus X or OnePlus 2. OnePlus will also let customers pay off their device at any time, so even if they just want to pay a little up front and pay it off the next month, that’s possible.
For the OnePlus X, which retails for $249.00, customers can pay $16.12 every month for 18 months, 12 monthly payments of $23.06, or $43.95 every month for six months. And for the OnePlus 2, which has a retail price tag of $349.00, the monthly breakdowns start at $22.60 each month for 18 months; $32.33 for 12 monthly payments; and 6 monthly payments of $61.60. OnePlus notes that these monthly payments all include an APR of 19.99 percent.
While the OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus X aren’t the most expensive devices on the market, it’s still nice to see the company offering new ways for customers to pick up the handsets. Did you get your current daily driver through installment plans?

VLC se ha convertido por motu propio en la navaja suiza para reproducir todo tipo de formatos de vídeo y audio desde que fuera lanzada en esa beta para que al final la tuviéramos en una versión completa no hace mucho. La beta sigue abierta y desde la misma se actualiza con novedades bien interesantes que nos ponen ante características a destacar, tal como sucede con la última.
La app VLC para Android ha sido actualizada para que puedas explorar tus archivos en tu red local, aunque con un detalle que lo distancia de esta funcionalidad que teníamos en parte. Ya que, en esta nueva actualización para la beta, te permite explorar las carpetas en los dispositivos compartidos a través de esa red local. Mencionar que anteriormente solamente podías realizar esto si se tenía un enlace directo al archivo.
VLC es toda una gran demostración de lo que es en si un gran software. Si ya dio la talla en los PCs, en Android está demostrando que el equipo de desarrollo que se encuentra detrás de ella es de lo mejor que se pueda encontrar. Vale que no estamos ante la app con la mejor interfaz del planeta, pero tiene en si un enorme potencial para echarle lo que uno quiera encima ya sea el formato de vídeo o audio.
La actualización que nos permite explorar carpetas en los equipos compartidos, ofrece la exploración de archivos sobre UPnP, NFS, FTP, SFTP, SMB, Windows Shares y unos cuantos más protocolos. La beta está disponible a los probadores de la app beta de VLC a la que puedes acceder desde este enlace para convertirte en un teste y pasar a la descarga de la app desde el enlace provisto.
Aparte de la exploración de archivos, los usuarios también pueden elegir entre cambiar la interfaz normal de Android a la de Android TV.

Today, the US Supreme Court wrote the final page in the long legal fight against Apple on charges of participating in a major conspiracy to inflate e-book prices. The original suite dates back from 2012 when the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York ruled that the Cupertino giant had conspired with publishers to inflate ebook prices as a means of undermining Amazon.
This original accusation states that back in early 2010, around the time the iPad was launching, Apple colluded with five book publishers and managed to raise some book prices by as much as 50% (from $9.99 all the way to $14.99) in an attempt to disturb Amazon’s leading position as a cheap e-book retailer.
After the initial ruling found the US giant guilty, it decided to start a long process of court appeals that inevitably led all the way up to the US Supreme Court. The latter, however, has decided not to hear the case, which leaves in place a June 2015 ruling by the New York-based 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, that found Apple guilty of violating federal antitrust laws. Seeing how Cupertino has reached the end of the legal ladder on this case, it will be forced to pay $450 million as part of a settlement.
Bill Baer, head of the U.S. Justice Department’s antitrust division commented on the development saying:
Apple’s liability for knowingly conspiring with book publishers to raise the prices of e-books is settled once and for all
