Early mockups speculate Android N UI changes

Android Police reports that it was able to get a hold of some Android N screenshots way ahead of Google I/O when the developer previews should be released. Since the screenshots were not allowed to be reposted, there were a few mockups which roughly describe the alleged changes in for Android.

Starting off with the notification toggles, there will be a new paged interface while also making the customization process of the toggles easier for the user.

Along with different looking app notifications in the main notification shade, there is a row of quick toggles just under the status bar which reminds us of the Ice Cream Sandwich days.

These mockups are reportedly based on early Android N screenshots and could vary by the time the developer previews are available for all to download.

Todos los que conocemos el software libre conocemos la red Tor, una red en la cual los usuarios pasan desapercibidos por el sistema de seguridad que tiene para ocultar la ubicación del usuario, apoyándose en el uso de un navegador especial basado en Mozilla Firefox.

El uso de Tor permite a mucha gente pasar desapercibida y ser anónima en la red, algo que no está gustando demasiado a las grandes empresas. Algunas empresas que están luchando contra el anonimato de Tor son Google, Yahoo y la conocida empresa de seguridad CloudFlare.

Desde el día de hoy, CloudFlare protege con una especie sistema de captcha y cookies que filtra todo el tráfico que proviene de la red tor(supuestamente creado para evitar DDos), que van a rastrear al usuario a la hora de navegar por internet.Esto va a permitir que mediante el rastreo de toda la actividad que hace por la red, pueden saber quien se encuentra detrás de esa actividad.

Lo mismo ocurre con webs como Google y Yahoo, que gracias a un sistema de Cookie única, también identifican al usuario de la red, supuestamente por motivos de seguridad, pero que permite detectar la procedencia del usuario si es un usuario descuidado.

Ahora el debate es si realmente este ataque contra el anonimato de Tor está justificado o no. Por una parte, esta red se ha llenado de criminales, pedófilos y personas que buscan delinquir, pero por otra parte, también hay usuarios que lo único que quieren es escapar del control al que nos tienen sometidas estas multinacionales, las cuales han destruido complemente nuestra privacidad en Internet.

Lo curioso es que estas medidas sólo afectan a las personas que entran a la web normal a través de Tor, no pudiendo hacer nada contra los usuarios que solo usan este navegador para acceder a la Deep Web(dominios .onion).

Si quieres utilizar el navegador Tor de manera segura, te aconsejo tomar ciertas medidas de seguridad.

  • Entra desde una Wi-Fi pública.
  • Desconecta tu disco duro y utiliza alguna distribución preparada para ser segura y que incluya Tor como Tails.
  • Utiliza algún software para cambiar la dirección Mac de tu tarjeta de red.
  • Evita navegar por lugares que puedan detectarte, como por ejemplo redes sociales.
  • No habilites nunca flash ni java script.
  • De vez en cuando dale al cuadro de renovar identidad.
  • Utiliza algún sistema extra de seguridad, como otro proxy o una VPN.

Google adds a VR section to the Play Store

As part of the company’s growing commitment to virtual reality, Google has now added a VR section to the Play Store. Google was one of the first entrants into the field of VR with Google Cardboard, its low-cost VR headset that utilized users’ phones to function as the display. Since then, Google has invested more into VR through partnerships and most recently, through a restructuring and the creation of a dedicated virtual reality department.

Google is now making it even easier for users to discover more about VR by creating a virtual reality section within the Google Play Store. This section highlights the capabilities of VR headsets that utilize Google Cardboard software. It also gives users a few different options to purchase Google Cardboard-compatible VR headsets.

All of this comes amidst recent rumors that Google will soon launch a successor to Google Cardboard, while also pushing further into virtual reality tech and looking for the next breakthrough. With all of its resources, Google may very well find the next big thing in VR, paving the way for a very different future.
