@evleaks has just outed a photo showing the backs of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. As per the photo, Samsung intends to keep the glass design of its upcoming batch of flagships. In our eyes, it looks like the Galaxy S7 and its variants will have a similar back to the Galaxy Note5, which is slightly curved towards the edges.
Previous leaks have suggested the phone will have four versions: Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Plus, Galaxy S7 edge, and Galaxy S7 edge Plus. In terms of specifications, expect a choice between the Exynos 8890 and Snapdragon 820 chipsets. Other rumors point a brand new 12MP 1/2.0″ sensor.

Si estás buscando un terminal bueno, bonito y barato, no puedes dejar pasar esta oportunidad, y es que dos de los mejores teléfonos Android que podemos comprar hoy en día están de rebajas. Ni más ni menos que el LG G Flex 2, que se encuentra en Amazon por solamente 275 euros, y el LG G3, que también está en Amazon por 282 euros.
Sin duda, dos auténticas gangas, y más si tenemos en cuenta que su precio oficial rondaba los 600 euros en el momento de su salida al mercado. Pero no solo por eso estamos ante dos buenas ofertas, y es que a día de hoy, pese a que no son los teléfonos más modernos, siguen siendo dos alternativas muy buenas.
La característica más interesante del LG G Flex 2 está implícita en su propio nombre, y es que es un terminal flexible. Esto significa que su pantalla, que es curva, y todo el conjunto en sí, goza de cierta flexibilidad, lo que lo hace un terminal bastante curiosos, que a la vez puede servir para aportar un extra de seguridad, ya que esto se supone que absorbe mejor los impactos, evitando con más acierto las tan temidas roturas de pantalla.
Por otra parte, estamos ante un terminal con un hardware de lo más interesante, en el que destacan un procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 2 GB de memoria RAM, una cámara principal de 13 megapíxeles con láser autofocus y estabilizador óptico de imagen, y una batería de 3000 miliamperios con carga rápida. Y no podemos dejar de mencionar su carcasa trasera que es capaz de autorrepararse ante arañazos.

Xiaomi and Meizu are two of the biggest and fastest-growing smartphone manufacturers in the world, yet both are virtually unknown in the US. Neither company has made an effort to expand its offerings into the US, instead sticking to the known territory of China and the surrounding region. But now, one small US carrier is becoming the first authorized US retailer of Meizu and Xiamoi devices.
US Mobile, a small subsidiary carrier that runs on T-Mobile’s network, is now selling Xiaomi and Meizu devices. The Xiaomi devices that will be offered include the Xiaomi Redmi 2 ($119), Xiaomi Mi 3 ($135) and the Xiaomi Mi 4i ($219). The only Meizu device that will be offered is the Meizu M2 Note ($149). All of the devices place an emphasis on offering big bang for your buck, with powerful specs paired with a low price.
There are some downsides, however. First of all, both Xiaomi and Meizu pack their phones with very heavy skins atop older versions of Android. As the phones were designed for the Chinese market (which doesn’t allow for Google services), the manufacturers make up for that with their own software. That may be a turn-off for many customers.
Additionally, none of the devices from Xiaomi or Meizu support LTE within the US. The phones weren’t designed to be sold in the US, and as such, they don’t include compatibility for US LTE bands.
Even with those drawbacks, the phones may still find a market on US Mobile, which is designed to offer value and flexibility to its customers. The carrier offers 150 different plan options that allow you to mix and match to find the plan that best fits your usage style. It also supports any T-Mobile phone and sells a huge array of devices itself, ranging from voice-only devices to high-end offerings such as the Blackberry Passport.
With this first entrance into the US, we’ll be sure to keep on the lookout for further US expansion from Xiaomi and Meizu.

Right at the end of January, we got to see what the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge from Samsung look like from the front, not really surprising anyone in the design choices that the manufacturer went with for their upcoming flagships. And now, in another leaked image, we get to see the other side of things.
Thanks to serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks), we get “Part two” of his leaks focusing on the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The new image shows the backside of both handsets, with the familiar Samsung logo in the middle, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge stamp at the bottom, the camera near the top edge, and the flash right there next to it.

Valve ha sorprendido con Steam Link, un aparato del que ya hemos hablado en este blog y que ofrece mucho por no demasiado dinero. Los amantes de los videojuegos y linuxeros deben estar muy agradecidos a Valve por lo que está haciendo por Linux, ya sea por su distribución SteamOS, su tienda Steam, su Steam Machine y todos los demás productos que nos ha dejado, sin olvidar los títulos de videojuegos que también ha desarrollado.
Ahora también ha lanzado Steam Link SDK para los desarrolladores, abriendo la plataforma para que se implementen novedades y así potenciar el aparato. Uno de los productos que se han aprovechado del SDK ha sido Kodi Media Hub, que ha sido portado para funcionar en Steam Link. Valve espera que haya más de estas novedades pronto, pero por el momento es un gran paso contar con este media hub que funciona en aparatos basados en ARM.
Sam Lantinga, un desarrollador, fue el encargado de escribir en los foros de Steam sobre este desarrollo y que cuyo código puede ser descargado desde GitHub. Se trata del primer desarrollo por el momento en aprovechar el SDK de Steam Link de Valve y que ayudará a esta plataforma a conseguir más adeptos de los que tiene ahora. Pero como se suele decir, lo mejor está por llegar y esperemos que sean muchos más desarrolladores los que se unan. De todos es sabido, que el éxito de una plataforma también tiene que ver con la cantidad de desarrolladores dispuesto a crear software y proyectos para ésta…
Insisto, es una buena solución aportada para los jugadores que ha presentado Valve, pero que parece que los usuarios no han sabido apreciar demasiado la “revolución” que representa. No obstante, aunque el desarrollo de proyectos para apuntalar una plataforma es clave para su expansión, lo cierto es que muchas plataformas son un éxito por sí solas y luego dicho éxito se contagia a los desarrolladores que se interesan por crear cosas nuevas para ella.
