Microsoft reconsiders, lets you keep your 15GB of OneDrive storage

Remember when in the beginning of November Microsoft announced that it will be introducing changes to the quotas for its OneDrive cloud storage service? Effective as of the beginning of 2016, unlimited storage was no longer to be offered, and neither were 100GB and 200GB plans, for existing and new accounts alike.

Most important to casual users, however, was the company’s choice to limit free storage to 5GB instead of 15GB and to cancel the 15GB camera roll bonus.

Well, Microsoft appears to be backing out on that last bit, at least. You can now opt to keep the 15GB of storage + 15GB camera roll and the procedure is dead simple. You just need to follow the Source link below (nothing fishy, it’s on the OneDrive website) where you’d be asked to login, and that’s it. We tried it and it worked. Just make sure you do it before January 31, when the offer expires.

It’s an understandable move on Microsoft’s part, we take it. It’s pointless to allocate space for dormant subscribers who don’t use the service, but there’s also little benefit to aggravating users of a modest 15GB (okay, potentially 30GB, but…

Buy 1 smartphone, get 1 free from AT&T, only not all that simple

AT&T is offering a holiday deal, where you can get two smartphones for the price of one. That does sound too good to be true, and it’s mostly because it is, though there likely are those that can take advantage.

The offer extends to popular models like the Samsung Galaxy S6, as well as the carrier exclusive Galaxy S6 active, but also the current iPhone 6s. For a precise list of participating models, you’d best contact AT&T, but from what we gather, you can’t pick up one iPhone and one Samsung, the two smartphones need to be the same brand.

Either way, the terms and conditions are pretty complex, but the essence is that both devices need to be on a Next 24 plan upwards of $70/month (which in fact means a 30-month subscription). Then after three bills, AT%T will start waiving the monthly payments for the phone for the next 30 months for a total of $650 (or $21.67/month). The free device needs to be a new line, and the other one can be a new line or an upgrade.

The offer expires on December 31, so if you happen to be eligible and are at all interested make sure you act by the end of the month.

Dosis de CyanogenMod para dos de las mejores tablets jamás creadas por Samsung

Generalmente, cuando hablamos de CyanogenMod, pensamos en una de las ROMs más adoptadas en la comunidad Android, ya que acoge un enorme rango de dispositivos, además de disponer de una de las mejores experiencias de usuario. Ahora es turno de la Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10,5 y la Tab S 8,4 LTE de recibir esta esperada ROM.

Para CyanogenMod, no hay distinción. Esta ROM cobija entre sus filas a más de 200 dispositivos, ya sean de gama baja, gama media o, como no, de gama alta. En parte, ésto se debe a la vasta comunidad de desarrolladores que se encargan de proveer con las últimas nightlies a todos los usuarios.

Esta ROM proporciona a todos los dispositivos que la adoptan casi las mismas características, no haciendo distinción entre unos y otros. Aunque es verdad que CyanogenMod otorga un rendimiento excepcional a terminales y tablets por igual, los usuarios de la Galaxy Tab S, por ejemplo, perderán muchas de las funcionalidades que tenían con TouchWiz.

Justamente esta semana, la ROM CyanogenMod empezó a publicar nightlies (builds neutrales) oficiales para el Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10,5 y el Galaxy Tab S 8,4 LTE. Hay que tener en cuenta que la ROM sólo está disponible para el modelo Galaxy Tab S 10,5 en su modelo Wi-Fi, por lo que antes de descargar la última nightly, asegúrate de tener el dispositivo correspondiente.

La Galaxy Tab S 10,5 fue presentada allá por julio de 2014, y aunque ya tiene algo de tiempo, sigue presumiendo de unas características de tope de gama de hace dos años, por lo que no hay que infravalorarla. La tablet cuenta con el procesador Exynos 5 Octa 5420, uno de los mejores jamás creados por el fabricante coreano.

A su vez, el Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8,4 goza del mismo procesador que su hermana mayor, acompañada también de 3 GB de RAM, una configuración muy top para entonces. Además de unas especificaciones excelentes, estas tablets presumen de sendos paneles Super AMOLED, sinónimo de una gozada de pantalla.

Hay que tener en cuenta que particularidades como la aplicación de cámara y la función multi-ventana entre otras ya no estarán disponibles una vez instalada la ROM. Es un hecho desafortunado, pero es el contratiempo de darle nueva vida a tu dispositivo a través de CyanogenMod.

Siempre es una excelente noticia oír como dispositivos que ya no reciben mucha atención de su fabricante original, se renuevan con una de las mejores ROMs en el universo Android. En general, CyanogenMod debería proporcionar una experiencia suave y agradable a los usuarios que lo instalen.

Ending Blues: Why I’m Never Going To Finish ‘Fallout 4’s’ Frustrating Story

At a certain point in any Bethesda game, you’ve done about what you’re going to do. You’ve gotten the impenetrable armor, the awe-inspiring weapon, the palace on the hill, respect and adoration from the people of Tamriel/The Wasteland, and you’ve become nigh on invincible. For me, it’s usually the point when I decide to finish up the main quest: a little treat at the end of a long journey and a capstone on lifetime spent in one of the deepest game’s available. That’s what I did in Fallout 4: slowly chipping away at the main story while I did side quests, saving the completion for the end. The only thing is, I’m not going to finish Fallout 4’s main story, because I don’t like it.
