Robolinux 8.3 ya está disponible
Una nueva versión de Robolinux ha aparecido en el mercado, Robolinux 8.3, una versión que responde a las necesidades de todos sus usuarios. Las primeras lineas que nos hablan del lanzamiento de Robolinux 8.3 lo cuentan así. No hace mucho el equipo de desarrollo de Robolinux lanzó una encuesta sobre qué querían en la próximo versión de Robolinux. La respuesta mayoritaria fue más programas multimedia instalados por defecto y más programas de seguridad. Y dicho y hecho.
Robolinux 8.3 tiene incorporado mucho software multimedia que trata aspectos como la edición de video con OpenShot, programas de dibujo como Pinta o gestión de imágenes como Gthumb, sin olvidar Scribus, Blender o Spotify. Desde luego un pack de aplicaciones multimedia bastante interesante y básico para todos.
La seguridad seguirá estando vigente en esta distribución, así el nuevo pack de seguridad incluye programas como el navegador Tor, el messenger Tor, Privoxy, Wireshark, Bleachbit, clamav AV o KeepassX 2.
Dos packs interesantes y necesarios si tenemos en cuenta que Robolinux se caracteriza por ofrecer un entorno casi igual al Windows, hasta el punto que permite instalar y ejecutar los archivos exe y ejecutables para el sistema de Microsoft en el propio sistema Robolinux y sin Wine. Al igual que en otras versiones, esta última versión de Robolinux tiene una versión con escritorio Lxde, MATE, Cinnamon, Xfce. Dejando de lado en esta ocasión a las versiones con KDE y Gnome.
Robolinux 8.3 es una gran distribución, ideal para muchos novatos que vienen de Windows y aún necesitan usar programas win32 para el trabajo diario y así poco a poco ir usando programas y Software Libre. Robolinux 8.3 está listo para su descarga en el siguiente enlace y si alguien busca un sustituto para su Windows XP ( si aún hay gente que tiene Windows XP) esta versión parece segura e ideal ¿ no creéis?

The Pixel C tablet is now available
The Pixel C has finally arrived! While Google has released a couple of Chrome-powered Pixel devices over the past few years, the Pixel C is the first Android device in the lineup. The spec sheet on the Pixel C is quite impressive, featuring an NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 10.2-inch 2560 x 1800 pixel display, 32GB and 64GB storage options and a USB Type-C plug. The Pixel C runs the latest version of Android and Google is promising that the tablet will get updated every six weeks to ensure it is always running at its best.
The 32GB version of the Pixel C tablet will sell for $499, while the 64GB model will come with a $599 price tag. If you are interested in the optional keyboard, which magnetically connects to the Pixel C, you’ll be out an additional $150. The keyboard can be adjusted at angles between 100 and 130 degrees and it features inductive charging so that you never have to worry about its battery running low.
We’re not sure if the Pixel C tablet is right for you, but it’s definitely a compelling option if you crave stock Android and want hardware that’s engineered by Google.

Apple releases iOS 9.2 to the public
Following several beta versions that have been released to developers as well as eager consumers over the past few weeks, the final version of iOS 9.2 is now out. It’s on its way to supported iPhones, iPads, and iPod touch units as an update that’s about 300MB in size (though this may vary depending on device).
iOS 9.2 comes with a very long list of bug fixes and enhancements, so it’s probably one to install as soon as you can. Apple Music, News, Mail, and iBooks have all received new functionality. And Siri now has support for Arabic in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Apple music now lets you create a new playlist when you want to add a song to a playlist, it lists your most recently changed playlist at the top when adding songs, and it shows you works, composers, and performers when browsing classical music in the catalog. You can download albums or playlists from your iCloud music library, and see which songs have been downloaded through a new indicator.
News gets a Top Stories section in the US, UK, and Australia, which gives you the most important events of the day. You can use Mail Drop in Mail to send large attachments. iBooks now supports 3D Touch for peeking at and popping up pages from the table of contents, your notes and bookmarks, or from search results inside a book. Additionally, you can listen to an audiobook while you’re browsing your library, reading other books, or just exploring the iBooks…

Nuevos renders filtrados del Xiaomi Mi 5 muestran grandes cambios en la botonera
Un supuesto render del cada vez más cercano Xiaomi Mi 5 acaba de filtrarse en la web. La imagen, que muestra el frontal del dispositivo del próximo buque insignia de la firma asiática, revela un botón home físico justo debajo de la pantalla. Todos los rumores apuntan a que éste albergará el sensor de huellas.
El hecho de tener un botón home físico es excesivamente significativo, especialmente si consideramos que el Mi 5 sería el primer terminal de Xiaomi en abandonar los 3 botones capacitivos a los que el fabricante nos tiene acostumbrados.
El Xiaomi Mi 5 en todo su esplendor
Tiene sentido la distribución que muestra la imagen, ya que cobrarían todo el sentido los rumores que llevan ya un tiempo formándose acerca del Mi 5 y su sensor de huellas. Si realmente el Xiaomi Mi 5 trajese un lector de huellas, sería el primer flagship de la compañía en incorporar un sensor biométrico de este tipo.
En este caso, el sensor, vendría incorporado en el botón home que podemos apreciar en el render filtrado. De hecho, según el reputado analista chino Pan Jiutang, el Mi 5 no hará uso de la nueva tecnología de Qualcomm UltraSonic Fingerprint Scanner, ya que no se encontraría todavía en proceso de adopción.
De esta manera, podemos esperar un sensor de huellas tradicional, como el que apreciamos en terminales como el Samsung Galaxy S6 o el iPhone 6 de Apple. Además, y según la reciente avalancha de rumores relacionados con el terminal, podríamos estar hablando de un lanzamiento cercano a enero de 2016, si no en el mismo mes.
Si nos fiamos de las últimas filtraciones, el próximo flagship de la mano de Xiaomi traerá unas características de infarto, pudiéndose convertir sin ningún problema en el mejor smartphone del año. Dando vida al terminal nos encontraremos al potentísimo procesador Qualcomm 820, del cual ya sabemos una gran cantidad de detalles.
Especificaciones
Acompañando al procesador en sus tareas más arduas, tenemos, según los rumores, la monumental cifra de 4 GB de RAM, cantidad sólo vista en un puñado de terminales durante este 2015. En cuanto al panel, tendremos un pantalla de 5,2 pulgadas con resolución QHD, una definición que debería hacer las delicias de los más adictos a los píxeles.
En el apartado fotográfico tendremos, casi con total seguridad, una cámara trasera de 16 megapíxeles, aunque se desconoce la cantidad de megapíxeles en la delantera. Según diversos medios, la batería debería ser de 3000 mAh, aunque existe algo de polémica alrededor de estos datos.
De forma resumida, estamos ante uno de los mejores smartphones en potencia creados en los últimos tiempos. Será interesante ver que estrategia adopta Xiaomi en cuanto a la política de precios a la que someterá su futuro terminal.

Mozilla launches Focus by Firefox, an ad blocker for iOS 9
Mozilla is the latest company to get into the ad blocking game on iOS, taking advantage (like so many others) of the introduction of the content-blocking API in iOS 9. Its offering is called Focus by Firefox, and it’s available now for free in the iTunes App Store.
It promises content blocking paired with tracking protection, increasing performance and possibly reducing data usage in the process. Focus by Firefox blocks the same trackers that are blocked when you use Private Browsing with Tracking Protection in Firefox for Windows, Mac, or Android, based on Disconnect’s open source blacklist. You can choose to block only certain categories of trackers, for example those used for ads, analytics, or social media.
Because Apple chose to make content blocking unavailable to third party browsers in its mobile operating system, you’ll find that ironically Focus by Firefox can only work with Safari at the moment – and not Firefox for iOS.

Why You Should Be Skeptical About That ‘Half-Life 3’ Info
Half-Life 3 is in the news again, as it has always been and always will be. SteamDB recently found evidence of gaming’s greatest vaporware buried inside Valve’s PC game sharing program, and that’s got some people excited about the possibility that Half-Life 3 is on its way. Maybe it’s already here, and you just missed it! Not that likely. As SteamDB explains, the inclusion of the name “Half-Life 3” as a package name doesn’t confirm anything. Here’s what they say:
“While this information comes straight from Valve and many of these kinds of leaks turned out to be real in the past, it is important to note that third-party Steam developers can create and name their own apps/packages, a noteworthy mention of developers doing this are these packages, in which they are trying to XSS Steam.”
And even if the info did indicate that Valve itself had something in the Steam database named “Half-Life 3,” it still wouldn’t be a confirmation of any kind. It might just be there for… some other reason. As always with this kind of thing, there a million scenarios that don’t end in a confirmation of Half-Life 3, and only one that does. And, given the fact that it’s Valve, they might also have put it there on purpose as a red herring. I wouldn’t put it past them, I don’t think.
