Que Google no descanse es algo que ya sabemos. En las últimas horas, hemos visto cómo funciona Google Contributor, el servicio de anuncios de Google, que es una buena idea si no quieres que en tu página web se visualicen tantos anuncios donando algo de dinero. Pero eso no es todo, ya que hace unas horas hemos podido ver cómo Google nos notificará si nos suscribimos a algún tipo de oferta.

Y la verdad es que Google no para con sus actualizaciones. Un ejemplo claro es la nueva interfaz de Google + la cual podemos activar para probarla si queremos. Otro de los ejemplos es la nueva interfaz que podemos tener en las aplicaciones de Google con temática Star Wars. Todo ello demuestran que Google sigue queriendo crear contenido para todo el mundo.

Una nueva característica de Google para no perderte ninguna oferta

La nueva idea de Google es la de ofrecer un servicio de notificaciones que permita a los usuarios interesados mantenerse constantemente informados sobre las últimas ofertas, promociones o actualizaciones de los minoristas más populares.La solución diseñada por Google se plasma en una serie de ofertas que reciben los usuarios en forma de mensajes de texto, –todo justo a tiempo para el Black Friday (Viernes Negro)–.

Para activar el servicio es necesario registrarse seleccionando el botón de “suscribe” que aparece y luego elegir qué tipo de alertas para recibir en los dispositivos que queramos (teléfonos, ordenadores, TV, etc.). Es bastante cómodo y, gracias a esto, podremos tener notificaciones en los dispositivos que queramos. Ocurre igual en las notificaciones que recibimos por ejemplo con las tarjetas de Google en nuestro móvil sobre cualquier noticia o información.

Un servicio pensado en el Black Friday aunque no disponible para España y latinoamérica

Las navidades están llegando pero antes de ello hay un día que es muy importante y ese es el Black Friday, el cual se celebra el último Viernes de Noviembre (en concreto el 27 este año). Adaptado de la fiesta en otros países puedes disfrutar de innumerables descuentos en una amplia variedad de productos por lo que es una gran oportunidad de conseguir los productos que quieras a un buen precio. En nuestro país, son bastantes los sitios que se apuntan al Viernes Negro, como Mediamarkt, Pc Componentes y Amazon entre muchos otros.

Según TuttoAndroid, el nuevo servicio parece que no estará disponible aún en Italia, –y lo mismo sucede con España y latinoamérica–, por lo que tendremos aún que esperar si queremos tener este nuevo servicio en nuestro smartphone. Sin duda, como siempre habrá que esperar pero la pregunta es, ¿merecerá la pena tener el servicio después del Black Friday? Puede que llegue tarde pero lo que sí estaría bien es que viniera por ejemplo en navidades para poder estar al tanto de las ofertas y hacer un buen regalo a un mejor precio.

Motorola’s Cyber Monday deals focus on last year’s devices

Today Motorola has announced its upcoming Cyber Monday deals, and surprisingly or not they are all about last year’s devices. Not a single 2015 Motorola phone or smartwatch is included, as it turns out.

The Moto X (2nd Gen) will be 25% off if you choose the 64GB model, starting on November 30 at 11 AM CT and until December 7 at 11:59 PM CT. The new price is $299.99, down from $399.99.

During the same period of time you’ll also be able to purchase the original Moto 360 from 2014 for $149.99, which is 50% off its $299.99 price.

The Moto G (2nd Gen) will have a special one-day deal, from November 30 at 11 AM CT to December 1 at 10:59 AM CT. In this time window you’ll be able to buy it for only $99.99, which is “over 40% off” compared to its normal price of $179.99 apparently.

And that’s it. You may have been expecting more, but if you need other Motorola wares at a discount, you’re better off searching at third-party…

NixNote 2, un gran sustituto de Evernote para Gnu/Linux

NixNote 2Una de las apps y servicios que ha revolucionado últimamente el mundo del smartphone y del ordenador, es sin duda Evernote. Esta aplicación es famosa por su posibilidad de tomar notas en cualquier parte y poder verlas en cualquier dispositivo, pero no en uno donde esté Gnu/Linux. Esto se debe a que oficialmente hay aplicación para todas las plataformas menos para Gnu/Linux. Pero esto no es obstáculo ya que existen alternativas, alternativas como NixNote 2.

NixNote 2 es un programa para Gnu/Linux que empezó escribiéndose en Java y que ahora está escrito en C++ y con librerías QT. Esto hace que tenga un funcionamiento mejorado pero no es tan bonito como la app oficial. NixNote 2 está aún en fase beta pero se puede usar perfectamente con una cuenta oficial de Evernote, pero con sus respectivas limitaciones, limitaciones que vienen dadas por la API de Evernote o sencillamente por los desarrolladores de NixNote.

Aún con limitaciones, NixNote 2 permite la sincronización total de las notas de nuestra cuenta Evernote con la aplicación, a excepción de aquellas que sean manuscritas que no se sincronizarán. Tampoco se sincronizarán las notas de audio, debido a la API de Evernote. Entre las novedades de la última beta se encuentra la posibilidad de enviar notas por email, buscar y subrayar palabras en archivos pdf, recibir notificaciones de la aplicación y gracias al archivo colors.txt, podremos personalizar los colores de la nota. Las redes sociales en esta versión aún no estarán presentes, pero parece que en próximas versiones estarán disponibles.

Como cliente no oficial de Evernote, NixNote 2 es uno de los mejores clientes no oficiales para Evernote según mi opinión personal, pero claro está, lo mejor es que probéis y juzguéis vosotros mismos. Si queréis instalar NixNote 2, en su web oficial encontraréis todos los paquetes disponibles para instalarlo en vuestra distribución favorita, bien sea basada en Debian o bien se base en Red Hat Linux y la paquetería rpm.

AMD Closing Out The Year With New Hardware And Software To Woo Gamers

Over the past week or so, I’ve had the opportunity to evaluate a couple of new products from AMD – one of them a new graphics card, the other a piece of software. The graphics card was the “new” Radeon R9 380X. I put the term new in quotes because the R9 380X is built around AMD’s Tonga GPU, which debuted last year on the Radeon R9 285. Unlike the R9 285 though, the GPU at the heart of the Radeon R9 380X has all of its functional block enabled. Whereas the Radeon R9 285 has only 1792 stream processors arranged in 28 compute units, with 112 texture units, and 32 ROPs, the Radeon R9 380X has a fully-functional Tonga GPU with 32 compute units / 2048 shader processors enabled, along with 32 ROPs and 128 texture units. Radeon R9 380X cards also feature 4GB of GDDR5 memory attached to the GPU via a 256-bit interface.

Samsung says the Galaxy Tab Pro won’t ever get Lollipop or Marshmallow

While most people are hoping their Android devices will at some point see a Marshmallow update, there are those still stuck on KitKat. For example, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 launched last year with Android 4.4 on board, and so far it hasn’t seen any big OS updates.

So, an owner of this tablet (who’s so far been extremely patient, it has to be said) took to Twitter to ask Samsung’s arm in the UK about a Lollipop or Marshmallow update for the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4.

The answer? Well, in short: no. This tablet will never see an OS version bump. Not to Android 5.0, not to 5.1, not to 6.0. This pretty much means support for this device has ended from Samsung’s point of view. It’s an interesting development, especially considering that the not much newer Galaxy Tab S 8.4 at least got Lollipop. And that was all the way back in April. But the Tab Pro won’t be so lucky.

As a final word of advice, keep in mind that this information might only be valid for tablets sold in the UK, since it’s Samsung’s arm over there disseminating the bad news. Though we wouldn’t hope for an OS update for the Tab Pro coming to any other regions…

Verizon offering up some deals for Black Friday

Black Friday is coming up, and a lot of companies are getting the info on their deals up early. Verizon is one of them, so you’ll know what to expect from them on Black Friday. When you switch to Verizon and trade in a device, you can get up to $500 off buying a Galaxy S6, S6 edge, or Droid Turbo 2.

A bunch of other devices are going to be on sale. The Ellipsis 10 tablet will be $150 off, at $50 with a two-year contract. A few smartphones are $100 off, with up to an extra $300 when you trade in a phone. And on top of that, a bunch of accessories like speakers, battery packs, and even drones are on sale.
