Remember those genuine leather back covers for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL that Microsoft recently unveiled? They’re made by Finnish company Mozo, and were officially presented not long after Microsoft’s big event at the beginning of the month.
If you’re interested in purchasing one of them for your next Lumia, then know that they are now all up for pre-order. All of the covers are made from genuine leather, they support wireless charging and NFC, and have a premium finish.
Four colors are currently available for both the Lumia 950 and the Lumia 950 XL: white, black, brown, and red. All models are priced at 48.50, which right now means approximately $55.20. Mozo ships worldwide, and deliveries are set to start on November 16. That’s not soon, but it’s probably not a huge issue since the phones they’re meant for aren’t out yet either.

Huawei ya anunciado qué terminales van a actualizar a Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Si hace poco nos enterábamos de que LG iba a comenzar a desplegar la última versión de Android en los LG G4 la próxima semana, y algún que otro fabricante ya ha expresado su voluntad de hacer lo mismo con sus dispositivos.

En este caso, Huawei acaba de anunciar su roadmap oficial para la actualización a Android 6.0, según recogen en PhoneArena. Los dispositivos que la conseguirán son los siguientes:

Por supuesto, dichos dispositivos recibirán la nueva versión e Emotion UI ejecutándose sobre Android 6.0 Marshmallow. De momento desde Huawei no han dado unas fechas concretas para el despliegue de la actualización, pero en la fuente se recoge que probablemente esta llegará aproximadamente en el mes de noviembre.
Vale la pena señalar que Huawei es ahora mismo el tercer fabricante de smartphones a nivel mundial, y que resulta significativa la inclusión de los terminales Honor, supuestamente pensados para los bolsillos que requieren precios más ajustados, dentro de esta actualización. Está más que bien que en Huawei se hayan decidido a tratar bien a los usuarios de estos terminales ofreciendo un soporte usuario decente. Por lo demás no hay sorpresas, y el actual flagship de la firma china debería ser de los primeros en recibir la nueva versión de Android.

Adobe Flash es uno de los software que más vulnerabilidades críticas ha reportado en los últimos tiempos. El sistema que se ha utilizado ampliamente en Internet, pero poco a poco va siendo sustituido en grandes portales y ya hay muchos como Firefox, Chrome y Amazon, entre otros, que han comenzado a prescindir de él por sus problemas y por que existen alternativas mejores.
Ahora Adobe, con la cara roja por todas las noticias de seguridad que ha protagonizado su producto, ha tenido que reconocer que tras la última vulnerabilidad crítica detectada, la única solución es desinstalarlo. Este podría ser el fin definitivo de Adobe Flash que ya lleva mucho tiempo tocado y casi hundido, pero la cantidad de sitios que aun dependen de él, aunque vuelvo a repetir que cada vez menos, lo han mantenido a flote. Ahora son sus propios creadores quien lo terminan de hundir.
Adobe ha reconocido que a pesar de sus numerosas actualizaciones y parches, no se solucionan los problemas que parecen ser de base y que los sistemas operativos Windows, GNU/Linux y Mac OS X que utilicen Flash pueden verse comprometidos y podrían ser víctimas de ataques que tomen el control del sistema explotando esta vulnerabilidad critica. Adobe incluso ha reconocido que ha sido utilizada ya para hacer ataques dirigidos y que la única solución des desinstalar Flash Player.
Esta piedra en el camino, mejor dicho, esta nueva piedra en el camino maltrecho de Adobe Flash, podría ser la última que se encuentren si no consiguen enderezar el rumbo de Flash Player con alguna actualización que evite estos graves problemas de seguridad. Pero si lo consiguen… ¿Saldrán más dentro de poco? Tal vez todos los que sigan usando Flash se deban plantear que las alternativas son la única vía.

There’s a lot of interest surrounding the BlackBerry Priv, not only because it’s BlackBerry’s first Android smartphone, but also because it’s the first Android smartphone with a physical keyboard that we’ve seen in a long time. Unfortunately, BlackBerry hasn’t really given us much information on when we’ll be able to try the Priv, saying only that the device will launch later this year. The good news is that there have been plenty of images and videos of the Priv making their way online to keep us entertained.
The latest BlackBerry Priv hands-on video comes to us from UK retailer Carphone Warehouse. The company posted a minute-long video that gives us a walkthrough of the Priv’s hardware, complete with its dual curved edge display and vertical slider.
In addition to posting this video, Carphone Warehouse has put up a product page for the Priv so that interested consumers can pre-order BlackBerry’s next phone. What’s interesting is that Carphone Warehouse has also shared a full list of the Priv’s specs. So far, BlackBerry has been trickling out the Priv’s spec details, so this full list is a welcome sight.
According to Carphone Warehouse, the BlackBerry Priv will sport a 5.4-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display and 2-megapixel camera on its face as well as an 18-megapixel rear camera that’s Schneider Kreuznach-certified and has a dual LED flash. Inside of the Priv’s 9.4mm-thick body is a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 3410mAh battery. The Priv runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
BlackBerry CEO John Chen has said that his company is working with all major carriers to offer the Priv, which is good news for folks in carrier-centric markets (like the US) as well as BlackBerry, which has said that it could stop making hardware if the Priv doesn’t sell well. Now we just have to wait for the Priv to actually launch to see if the novelty of an Android-powered BlackBerry slider can translate into sales.
