5 buenas razones para probar HERE Maps en tu móvil

Desde que HERE Maps desembarcara en Android, se ha removido alguna que otra cosa en esta categoría de apps en las que parecía reinar sin preocupaciones Google Maps.

Pero en el momento que los usuarios pudieron acceder a los mapas sin conexión a través de HERE Maps, aparte de otras cuatro razones evidentes para su uso, los chicos de Mountain View se pusieron las pilas para anunciar en el pasado Google I/O que para finales de año accederemos a una versión de Maps con mapas offline. HERE Maps ha logrado que Google mueva ficha, pero no solamente queda todo en esos mapas sin conexión, sino que cuenta con otras grandes ventajas.

Una de las características que todavía debemos ver en las apps de Google y Apple es la navegación giro a giro sin conexión.

Esta capacidad le permite al usuario obviar la conexión online para poder seguir navegando a través de la ruta elegida, algo que supone una gran ventaja como app de mapas y a la vez navegador.

Lo único que requiere es que tengamos que descargar los mapas en el dispositivo antes de pasar a poder utilizarlos apropiadamente. Dicho esto, hay mapas para regiones en concreto por lo que no tendremos que llenar de más la memoria interna del dispositivo.

Gran cantidad de mapas sin conexión

Una de sus mayores virtudes es la capacidad de descargar mapas offline para su uso, tal como he comentado anteriormente.

Google Maps tiene la capacidad de descargar mapas sin conexión pero de una forma bastante reducida a la que ofrece HERE Maps. Sí, los tendremos para finales de año, pero mientras HERE Maps se dispone como la mejor opción para estos mapas sin conexión.

HERE Maps ofrece al usuario vistas satélite y la estándar al igual que Google Maps, pero también ofrece una bien útil como es la de tráfico y tránsito que proveen información a tiempo real.

Esta vista de tránsito ofrece acceder a la información en tiempo real de más de 700 ciudades y 50 países, algo a destacar como otra de las buenas razones para tener instalada esta app.

Aquí puede competir directamente con Google Maps, la cual también ofrece mapas de interiores para determinados edificios.

HERE Maps incluye también información por planta para que podamos encontrar lo deseado de un vistazo y no nos perdamos por esos edificios con multitud de plantas o esos centros comerciales que se encuentran por el país.

Google Maps y Apple Maps son igual de gratuitos que HERE Maps y son unas alternativas bien interesantes en comparación a las apuestas que tenemos de pago.

Apps de gran calidad que ofrecen casi todo lo que uno puede esperar para una de este tipo y que siguen actualizándose cada poco tiempo para intentar ser la mejor en esta categoría, que a la hora de la verdad no tenemos tanta como a lo mejor fuera lo deseado para que se avanzara de una forma más rápida.

TAG Heuer teases you to be ‘connected to eternity’ with its smartwatch

TAG Heuer has been working on its smartwatch for a bit of time now, with the Android-powered wearable expected to be a huge move from the prestigious watchmaker as it enters the “smart” market.

It wasn’t too long ago that the company’s CEO confirmed that the upcoming watch will cost $1,800, but at the same time not confirming any of its hardware elements or features. The watch itself was confirmed to be coming down the pipe back in March of this year, so for anyone that’s been waiting to see what the watch will look like, the wait has been long.

Now TAG Heuer has taken to Twitter to tease the incoming wearable. Along with the caption, “Get ready to experience the next step in innovation,” and including a hashtag “#connectedtoeternity,” there’s an image of what looks to be a round watch and what could be a leather strap.

There’s a physical button on the side of the casing, so it will be interesting to see how that will come into play when the watch is officially unveiled later this year.

The tweet also includes a link to a dedicated website that TAG Heuer has launched, which includes a large countdown clock that ends on November 9, 2015.

The ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ Beta Ends Tomorrow

We got a bit of a reprieve when EA extended the popular Star Wars: Battlefront beta by one day, but this particular trial period comes to an end tomorrow. EA tells me that exact times will vary, but we can expect things to go down early morning on the 13th. After that, the team at DICE has just about a month to fine tune the thing, iron out balance issues, and prepare for the inevitable launch day onslaught. After today, your next chance to play will be on November 17th. Fingers crossed for a smooth launch, but things can get hairy even with an open beta.

New ZTE Nubia X8 photos tease resistive volume rockers and possible October 15 launch

In today’s highly-competitive and overflowing market, staying relevant and up to par with competitors is a tough challenge, but standing out from the crowd and gathering gazes is even harder. A new eccentric and bold design is definitely a plan, but that has become increasingly difficult in the current mobile market, dominated by the boring “slab” handset design.

Still, ZTE seems to have managed to find a way to stick out with the upcoming Nubia X8. A new set of photos, recently shared by the OEM on Chinese social outlet Weibo, seem to show a new control design for the phone, featuring resistive touch volume rockers.

From the looks of things, the X8 will have a set of three grooves carved right into the side if the frame, two of which are touch operated volume controls. It is hard to tell whether the power button will be resistive as well, but, judging by the space around the button, it could also be a standard physical one, albeit quite shallow.

In any case, besides being a peculiarity, we really doubt the concept will yield anything good. There are obvious reasons the industry has stuck with physical power and volume buttons for so long. It is quite simply the more convenient and responsive way. Still, we are inclined to keep an open mind.

Another piece of information was also shared alongside the photos – what appears to be a promotional banner. It is even complete with a date – October 15, when we will most likely see the release of the Nubia X8. As for the rest of the specs of the phablet, we first heard some rumors, back in May when the Nubia Z9 was unveiled, some of which sound pretty plausible.

The Nubia X8 is said to have a huge 6.0-inch display and sport a slim unibody design. Previous images have actually shown what appears to be a fingerprint reader below the camera on the back, much like recent Huawei devices, but rumors also hint at a possible front placement for the sensor – underneath the signature Nubia home ring. ZTE will also, allegedly, pack the flagship with 4GB of RAM and offer it in 32GB and 64GB storage…

  • Ruby 2.1 ahora está por defecto.
  • Mejoras en el modo anónimo.
  • BackBox ahora hace una limpieza total de la memoria RAM al apagar el sistema y al arrancarlo.
  • Añadidas herramientas como OpenVas y Automotive Analysis.
  • Actualización de todos los paquetes que incluía la versión anterior.
  • Corregidos errores y fallos de seguridad.

Comos vemos las actualizaciones están destinadas principalmente a una mejora en la seguridad, éstas herramientas de penetración deben cumplir a rajatabla con todas las actualizaciones ya que en temas de seguridad informática es imprescindible estar a la última debido a la innovación y a la contínua aparición de bugs y agujeros de seguridad.Si sabes inglés y quieres ver más en profundidad las actualizaciones de la distribución las tienes en éste enlace.
