Strange: Siri calls police when asked to charge phone

Looks like Apple's virtual assistant Siri has an interesting response to a certain command. When you ask it to "charge my phone 100 percent," the software instead begins calling emergency services.

At the face of it, this may seem to be a bug, but it could also be a feature to secretly call the police in desperate situations, although it isn't officially mentioned anywhere.

The behaviour is reproducible on iOS 8, but not in the public beta of iOS 9, suggesting it probably is a bug. Anyway, should you test this out at your end, make sure you cancel the call in the five-second window that Siri gives unless you want a cop at your door.

Motorola nos da una fecha para…¿la presentación del nuevo Motorola Moto G?

“La relación con tu móvil está a punto de cambir”. Así de intrigante es el mensaje que Motorola nos ha dejado hace escasos minutos en las redes sociales, acompañado de la imagen que veis sobre estas mismas líneas, y una fecha. Por tanto, ya tenemos cita con la compañía para descubrir qué es lo nuevo que nos tienen preparado. Por supuesto, todo es un secreto de momento, aunque los rumores y filtraciones de las últimas semanas dan lugar a un buen puñado de especulaciones.

Por poner un ejemplo, ayer mismo salían a la luz las teóricas características del nuevo Motorola Moto G, a través de una filtración que desde luego, parece bastante verídica. También se indicaba el precio, y curiosamente, una fecha de presentación que coincide con la cita que nos acaba de dar la propia compañía.

El 28 de julio tenemos una cita con Motorola

El próximo día 28 de julio, es decir, el martes de dentro de un par de semanas, es el día elegido por Motorola para dar a conocer su novedad –o sus novedades–.

La posibilidad de conocer al Motorola Moto G 2015 es más que probable, y más teniendo en cuenta esa coincidencia con la filtración anteriormente mencionada. Así, ya sabríamos la mayoría de los datos del terminal, siendo lo más relevante el hecho de que aparecería en dos versiones, una con 1 GB de RAM y 8 GB de almacenamiento, y otra con 2 y 16 GB respectivamente, y que contaría con el certificado IPx7 que asegura resistencia al agua.

También se han filtrado bastantes imágenes de su aspecto físico, y todo indica que será personalizable a través del servicio Moto Maker. Por último, debemos mencionar un dato que no nos gustará tanto de confirmarse, y es que se comenta que su precio que podría superar los 250 euros en el modelo de solo 1 GB de memoria RAM.

Sin embargo, debemos tener en cuenta que son muchos los frentes abiertos que tiene Motorola. También cabe la posibilidad de que muestren el nuevo Motorola Moto X, o incluso una evolución de su reloj inteligente, el Motorola Moto 360. Pero como decíamos al principio, todo son meras especulaciones, así que no nos queda más remedio que esperar a que llegue el día indicado.

Check out this beautiful Samsung Galaxy Note 5 360-degree render

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 crawled out of obscurity over the past few weeks and thanks to a couple of supposedly genuine renders, one coming from @onleaks, the other one courtesy of a casemaker, we now have a pretty complete picture of the upcoming top-shelf phablet. And while those renders may be right on the money, they stick to color schemes suitable for 3D modeling.

It's nice then that a bunch of people have put in the effort to make a more true to life rendition of the Note 5, based on the first render, and post it online. So we have the successor to the Galaxy Note 4 presented in white attire, ready for a 360-degree spin.

We enjoy the near bezelless look, but the array of sensors next to the earpiece draws way to much attention to itself, now that they're not mere circles, but actual contrasting cutouts. A dark colored Note 5 will mask them better probably, but then again it may not need to as they may end up being fewer and smaller if the casemaker's intel is more precise. The earpiece itself is perhaps a bit too fat as well, but that may also be subject to change.

Now, we're more than a little skeptical that the task switcher capacitive button on the left will sit higher than the back button, as the designers will have you believe, but that's likely an oversight. Either way, we may get to see the actual device unveiled as soon as August 12, so stay tuned.
